I thought Erina was supposed to be the main girl/romantic interest but she's hardly getting any screen time, it's a pity. I hope Megumi loses now she's nice but she's not really an elite cook I'm guessing she's only here to be the homey wifey type. :P

Nothing is wrong with flashback. Plus, it is obvious that Soma had reached to the point that it needs flashback to support (drag) it if it wants to survive in a JUMP long enough.

As for Naruto, how many flashback do you actually seen from the same character? I am genuinely curious or you just exaggerate it just to make Naruto looks bad.

There was a 2page crossover manga of Shokugeki no Soma and PSI Saiki Kusuo.
Saiki and his dad goes to restaurant Yukihira.
Being an ESPer, Saiki can visually see the "naked orgasmic reactions" of people eating Soma's food.

Seeing his own father naked, legs spread and orgasming, Saiki loses his appetite.

I think Kurokiba might lose now.

His backstory is now revealed, he is also one-sided regarding his cooking skills, so no longterm opponent.

And he said that only with brute force one can win.

This screams like he wants to be proven wrong...and here we have Megumi with her supersoft motherly cooking.

I am gonna be pissed if Kuro loses, because he is quite neat due to his bipolar character, but I predict that he is gonna fall.

I agree. This looks just like a cliche shonen style battle between the hero and some mid-boss.

Maybe. The difference here is that Megumi is probably more the damsel-archetype than hero-archetype. In any case, there'd be some nice symmetry from Alice losing, but Kurokiba winning. My guess'd be a close loss on Megumi's end.

Remember Megumi vs the Alumni? Megumi can go make her food as warm as the Sun, it ain't gonna give her a win when her opponent has tastier food. Oh and the Alumni has his backstory revealed too! So don't worried, Kuro is better than Alice and I doubt Megumi's skill is better than her. However if Megumi does win then we can confirmed Megumi as a creator's pet.

Even Soma couldn't win against that four-eye, he is at a complete different level. I don't think Kurokiba is anywhere near that level.

Souma was only allowed to help Megumi, he wasn't the one going against that guy. Plus he sandbagged that match, and if he did so against Souma, there is a possibility that he could've lost

Souma only helped her. And his help is the one of essential things that allowed Megumi to stand more or less equally that guy, which by the way went easy on them.

Pretty sure that the creator favour Erina more than Megumi, but then, we don't know how strong is the editor's influence on the creator though.
