I'm Still Here (2k10)
Anyone else seen this cinematic masterpiece? It totally rekindled my heterosexual man-crush on Joaquin Phoenix.
This is one of the rare occasions that I actually want to hear other peoples' opinions, so let me know what you think about this spectacular movie.

Ever see Gladiator? He was the prince in that movie. Or how about Signs? The movie with the aliens. He is in that. Or Walk the Line, the movie about Johnny Cash. He played Johnny Cash in that movie.

Is he deliberately RL trolling or just out of stupidity? Do you think the poll has a chance to survive the administrative force... and why would I want to watch this movie when I was not able to motivate myself to watch the movie Borat? Many questions, but they are all rhetorical questions.

He was deliberately RL trolling. Surviving the administrative force is more or less my thing. I'm Still Here is different from Borat. SBC trolls as other people, where as JP has the moral integrity to troll as himself.

--- That being said, I'm Still Here is a wonderfully silly film filled with some great insider and outsider jokes. Sadly, unlike Borat (to name a somewhat similar film), I'm Still Here doesn't hold up as well under repeated viewings. Performances are definitely strong, but the central joke is ultimately one-note. Still, it's a great joke the first time you hear it ... |

Saw it in theaters actually, I'd been looking forward to seeing JP's ultimate troll reveal for a while and I found it quite entertaining and awesome. Some may call it one-note, but certainly Borat's "I'm a wacky foreigner" was also rather one-note as well. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece or better than Borat, but it's worth seeing
