How many ways can "free" translate to "there's no budget for voice acting"? Just enjoy the story line and marvel at what has been a group of people's hobby for the last five years.

Well if they put enough time and effort into this I'm just suggesting that it's not inconceivable for there to be VAs, even if not technically professionals. Of course if professionals were involved that'd just be fucking great.

Vexx has a point, as always. And I find it very unlikely for there to be such a significant addition to this game.

From the FAQ:
Q: There aren't any voices. Are you interested in hiring some voice actors?
A: No. We decided on this early in development for a number of reasons, including (but not limited to): sheer amount of dialogue, the need for VAs for every character, and bloating of the already somewhat large number of developers. Please don't apply to be a voice actor, because we won't accept any. Modifying the game to include voices without official permission is also against our license.

I haven't encountered a h-scene yet, but how could it be "noticeable" it there never was suppose to be any censoring. Do you mean you only noticed in one scene the lack of censoring and in the other scenes you never even noticed the censoring was "missing"?.

Hanako->Emi->Rin->Lilly->Shizune

I don't think that there has to be any specific order to enjoy it best.

Finished Hanako so far. I really liked her route.

btw, who was surprised by the awesomeness of the Act2 start cutscene? My favorite cutscene was probably Hanako's.

Hanako's cutscene is the best one, IMHO. Lilly's very cute and Rin's artistic - oh so fitting. It's interesting that they encompass the themes of each girl's route, or at least hint at things. Very nice.

The cutscenes have so much more meaning when you watch them after getting each girl's good end. I cried a little on re-watching Rin's.

Played through Rin->Lilly->Emi->Shizune->Hanako.
Favourites were Shizune->Lilly->Hanako->Emi->Rin

I was really impressed by the writing on the paths. It definitely felt like a different story each time, the girls all having a different theme. I also appreciated how you get a slightly different view of the girls on each route (eg. Hanako compared between her own route and Lilly's, or how Shizune comes across across the various routes). I also liked how certain actions on Hisao's part were called out in some routes.

My one regret is playing the Rin route first. I found in was very nuanced, and with many decision point across it. It definitely turned out differently to my expecations.

Regarding the H-scenes, I was very happy here, since they were quite tastefully done, and fit each character well. Some were confronting as well, due to the situations involved. In my opinion, this was a strength, and the writing really came through here.

All in all, highly recommendeed.

I must add, you will miss out on some character exposition by skipping the h-scenes. Rin's path comes to mind here especially.

I think you can still read the text when you "skip," it just removes the offending images.

I'm pretty sure it's a case of fading to black. I'll check it out and edit as appropriate.

Edit: Yes it completely skips the scene, rather than fading to black it cut to a picture of a hamster though. There was still frontal partial nudity before the cut though.

So having not played the other paths yet, I advise you don't disable h-scenes for Rin's path.

Don't forget that this is, was, and has always been an English project. Even if there were VA's, they'd be English, as that is the language the game was created in.

If that is the case, I wouldn't disable H for Hanako either.

btw, how hard would it be to finish Rin's path without a guide? I heard it was a pretty complicated route.

Since I started to play this (I didn't finish it yet, not one route, kinda busy), l was intrigue by the atmosphere of the game (I'm a nurse), I wish to share this game to my colleagues.
