This has been discussed a few while ago. And we honestly don't have much information about it what we know is that she was a commoner and only achieved noble statues after becomming Empress.
Personally what I think is that she might have been the daughter of an important political figure (maybe from the French EEU) or businessman since the king wouldn't have simply fallen in love with a commoner. There might have been a reason to get married to her (either for securing an alliance, obtaining an important connection, or gaining control of something). Most likely all her power and allies were destroyed or weaken to the point that she could be assassinated without worrying the Emperor at all. Now, I am wondering if there was anything else that she was able to save or keep for their son&daughter if this in fact happened. Most likely the Ashford and the Kilihara knows about it since the Ashford have protected them for years and Kilihara protected him during the Invasion of Japan. |

And, indeed, Marianne Lamperouge is certainly not a Japanese name - it's a French one ("Lampe rouge" meaning "Red lamp"). One can also wonder if she wasn't betrothed to the Emperor as a political move to quell the animosity between Britannia and the EEU (well, now that Marianne is dead...)...unless, of course, there's written proof that she was born a Britannian. And it was indeed her commoner status that got her killed, probably by a Purist family member - in this case, most likely Schneizel.

Just like most others, I don't like her style of singing, but the music makes up for it... Also, like the 4th op of Blood+ , I didn't like it at first, but after awhile (and prolong exposure), it does sound kinda catchy =P...

Worst. OP. Ever.
Well, other than that Blood+ OP done by the same band. *sigh* Oh, btw, lack of preview for the next episode. Just one screenshot. I hope this doesn't mean they are behind on schedule, and we start seeing quality drop. Good episode. Except for the OP.
