Oh! I read a few chapters of the manga way back and it didn't quite grab me, but maybe it will work better for me as anime...

If this is the start of a new wave of adaptations of historical manga (and, god forbid, perhaps something original eventually?) then I guess it was worth the blood sacrifice of poor Arslan. Especially for Altair that I'd given up on ever getting a drama CD, never mind an anime.

this is the anime that I look forward to this season, and at the same time I am afraid that the consequences of the theme that the series wiggle can generate for the most sensitive people, I would like the fanbase to be bigger.

But yeah, this wasn't really on my watchlist, but I was curious enough to give it a try and it turned out to be pretty good. The topic is interesting and the animation quality was good enough.

In other words, this is based off a historical invasion of the Mongols mixed with fantasy?
To be honest, I hope the fantasy portion doesn't really get too unbelievable, because if there was one thing bad about this episode was when the guy suddenly jumped several meters right onto his boat.
What do they say... That is really broke the atmosphere? You got all this down and dirty sword fighting going on and then one guy suddenly goes superhuman, and you're like "Ugh..."

Oh, and while there are not that many female characters, the ones that exist are pretty cute.

...Did they have that VA voice the servant girl just because she was going to die?

Honestly, I like the art style of this show. It felt like a mixture of painting-style and unique drawings that came together in animated form. Seems like the show deals with war themes and I'm curious to know about the main characters.

The main protagonist so far seems like a tough guy anyway.
