Eh. Why AKB0048 is not made by Sunrise studio 8? That plot with this animation could make a hit, but now we have great idol show with mediocre animation from Satelight and greatly animated but really mediocre plot-wise idol show from Sunrise.

My verdict: I'll wait till this one ends and decide, to watch or not to watch it, after

Since it is the show to promote the idols behind the characters and songs I doubt they really gonna or need to push for the best animation.
Besides i bet it is either will be about group dynamics or idol's struggles.

Though i have to ask myself how much of fanbase they can manage to generate through anime seeing it is not as fleshed out as idolmaster.

I really liked this episode. The music and dancing was very good and I myself like the animation. The characters seem a little..ehh, at first, but i'm sure they'll no doubt grow on us and become characters we care about

Just watched eps 1 of LoveLive...
Not a bad story for idol anime theme...
Their music and dance are quite good...

But my final conclusion is "Lack of impact"...
*after watching another idol anime earlier in this season.

Question remained? Will they able to top a certain 13 idol master?

Love Live Life 01 - UTX ~Clime in the City~

I've seen the Love Live stuff on Lantis' site long before this anime, but I never really pursued it. Giving it an anime has obviously drawn my attention to it. I think this an AKB can coexist, because aside from the general concept of "singers", they're clearly going off in completely different directions. And I enjoyed what I saw here. One reason is because Sherlock, Nero and Kokoro's VAs are here (though none of them are the lead). The birth rate really has become a problem for Japan, and because of that, I can see some people drawing some comparisons to Tari Tari, though again, completely different goals.

The CGI was actually really nice. It blended with the 2D to the point that I wasn't instantly put off by it, and the transition to the ending/opening was pretty cool. If there's one thing this first episode really had going for it, it's the editing. Cutting between the conversations, the way the archery practice and A-RISE's concert were spliced. This show knows how to use the power of montage to its advantage. Honoka's cheeriness is really infectious, and her inability to read the atmosphere got a few laughs out of me.

It was very pleasant to watch, and should be entertaining. That's all it needs to be.

Character design and animation director: Nishida Asako (Simoun, Touka Gettan). Me watch. She is clearly the reason that the animation was so good, with the CG actually fitting in seamlessly. Good dance scenes, maybe the best I've seen in a show like this.

I thought this episode worked great. The director made it flow beautifully. The story was told with dispatch and effect. The voices were excellent. Nitta Emi did a good job as the lead, and Nanjou Yoshino (the student council pres) has suddenly become a really good seiyuu.

And the singing was good.

Series director Kyougoku Takahiko directed/storyboarded this ep. He has storyboarded a lot of shows (Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream and Accel World, among others), but this is his first gig as main director.

What in world am I watching.... It's my first time watching such kind and its.. embarrassing!!!!

Cute girls, moe, ribbons, skirts, ah!!! Those round eyes!!! I'm becoming gay!!!!

Anyway... the only solution I could think is to make it a boy and girls school... the cute girls will attract a lot of boy students...

I'll try to endure it...girly anime..

I tried to watch it on CR, but it kept freezing every second and I have high speed. I guess I have to settle with horrible subs. Even when I want to watch it legit, these things keep happening.
