Believe it or not, it actually looks better.

Heck, I would double dip on some games on the current gens if it gets ported to the PS4. You may try to play Shadow of Colossus on the PS3 and see how it's vastly different compare to PS2 version, so it's not strange for people to buy PS3 games on the PS4.

As I said before, I hope the Japanese developer doesn't fall into the trap of chasing next gen graphic. They could just keep the current graphic and port it onto the PS4 and I would still buying. I'd love to play an Atelier game without horrible framerate, or a Gundam versus on splitscreen without framerate issue, and be able to record/stream video for Blazblue match would be godsend for small scale tournament or inhouse matches. I would have bought the PS4 day one if they had those games or had some kind of backward compatibility. As of right now, I don't really have any interest in the next gen games, aside from Yakuza Ishin.

At the current selling rate (worldwide), the PS4 already surpassed the PS2.

Looks like Japanese video game store owners are getting creative in explaining the power of the PS4 to their customers. One decided to resort to one of Japan’s most beloved anime and manga series: Dragonball.
In the picture at the bottom of this post you can see the peculiar billboard placed on the shop’s counter, as shared by Twitter user Kurage.
Here’s a translation of what the sign says:

PS4: just how powerful is it?
If you compare the PS3 to Freeza’s first form (battle power 530,000)
PS4 is a monster machine like the fourth form of Freeza (battle power 60 million).
[8GB Memory] -> 16 times the PS3. Power: Can use the Death Beam 16 times at the same time.
[8 Cores] -> 8 Times the PS3. Number of programs that can be executed: The Ginyu Force is now 40 people.
[Memory GDDR5] -> 7 Times the PS3. Processing Speed: Will move seven time quicker.

that's what happen when you buy a console and there's nothing to PLAY!

but seriously, i bought AC 4 on ps4 cause i dont like having to deal with UPLAY drm
from the PC. and Tomb Raider cause i have never play it before and it was $40. i can
get it from steam for $10, but oh well, ps4 it is.

but the main reason why i even bother getting a PS4 was cause Dynasty Warriors 8
is coming to the ps4. i wanted to get the ps4 first when it was in stock so that
i dont have to deal with "OUT OF STOCK" craps when DW8 comes out on 3-25-2014.

so anyways, AC4 and Tomb Raider arrive today, so i might as well enjoy them!

I could have built myself a gaming PC instead of getting PS4 but I'm a full time student on a tight budget, so PS4 was my option for the next few years of HD gaming. The next biggest thing that made me get a PS4 was the promise of the kind of awesome exclusives PS always gets.

7th gen consoles are out of date now, it's tech is basically about decade old, I don't see why it's a "trap" to buy a game that performs better on a more powerful console. If anything its making better use of your money (if you have some to spend on gaming). Would you pay $60 for a game on 7th gen. and get standard to low performance, or pay $60 for a game and get high to max performance on next gen consoles? Which would you get the most out of?

To be honest, I don't think it will even break 400k or heck the 300k mark(okay I'm low balling this ). I still think around 200-250k is the range.

You're being misleading by bringing up a game that had serious framerate issues on its original platform.

This comparison only makes sense if the game was underperforming on the PS3 in the first place. For most games, this is not the case, and you'd gain nothing from porting them to the PS4.

But all the games I mentioned have issue on the PS3 in the first place. AC4 and TR all are underperforming on the PS3, and the PS4 version is just much better.

Most AAA games have been toned down severely on the current-gen consoles for the better part of the last 2/3 years. The new consoles at least bring the games up to the level of current mid-high gaming PCs. There's definitely a graphical and performance advantage in getting the latest AAA games on the next-gen consoles.

Hmm don't think it will be that low. Betting on 500k shipment and 300k+ sellthrough.

Not really, it's only one class. And while I'm pretty sure nothing absolutely groundbreaking would ever happen... You never know

Just running it in the background to see bunch of weird celebrity(?) endorsement. Hopefully we'll get some hot announcement but kinda not banking it but you never know. They did pull out that knife on E3 last year.

Someone mentioned at neogaf that the shipment was 350k at most. So my prediction is still doable

The PS4 Adds Another MMORPG to its Library: Onigiri

Quote:
The Japanese developer Cyberstep announced today that the free to play MMORPG Onigiri will be heading to the PS4 in addition to the previously announced PC version. The open beta for PS4 will begin in Japan on the same day as the release of the console (February the 22nd), while the official service is scheduled to begin only five days later, on the 27th.

While there are no news yet about the availability of the PS4 port outside of Japan, it’s definitely not unlikely, as the English version of the game already passed its alpha testing for PC and there’s even an English official site for it.
