That Rehashed scene with the alien communicating ruined it all for me. I can already tell its going to be a bomb.

I fail to see your logic, and even less your precognitive abilities.

Hmm I don't know. Could be fun.

Though wow they are going to take their shot at top notch city destroying weaponry. Although I'm not sure if this is actually more powerful than what we saw in the first film. That weapon could level a city with one shot. This seems to take longer in....terms of sucking up a city in pieces .

The previous weapon was more or less a nuke (which made a slow-moving wall of fire that people can run away from for some reason), whereas here it's actually tearing apart the Earth and lifting entire buildings into the air. In terms of sheer devastation this is unquestionably more destructive.

Yep, it only looks slow-moving because it's super-zoomed out to show us the scale of the destruction, just as the atmospheric entry of the ships in this movie and the original looked slow-moving because there camera was so zoomed out to let us see a proper scale. If you were right in the thick of it, it would be much faster, but you wouldn't have a view of the true scale of it.

Rather than a weapon that they're using though, from the trailers it seems to me like the ships are just landing on the cities. Which, given their massively larger size, it makes sense.

I don't agree with it being unquestionably. Those were pretty darn effective weapons. And let's face it. People are going to be running away from devastation and if they are important enough to the plot, the devastation will slow down enough to let them do that.

You must be new here despite the date on under your avatar.

Every movie i've predicted to suck... sucked... Batman V Superman Dawn of We Have to Beat Marvel! being the most recent.

They are going to rehash soooooo many scenes in hopes of Nostalgic and they are going to purposely try to make it like the first one thinking that'll make everyone like it like the first one.

Say what you will but I KNOW for a FACT that it's going to be garbage.

Sorry, not new. I've been here since '04 actually. My account was wiped by the Animesuki hack way back when. Making me sound like a newb doesn't help your argument. -_-

People are whiners and complainers. (they're also stupid, but that's a topic not for this thread) I never trust any complaints they have no matter what movie they're talking about. They'll complain just to complain, and ignore facts so they can complain. So sorry, you saying you know for a "fact," when the maority of any hate on the movie will just be negative and whiny people doing their whining (and I have no doubt they'll whine), that this movie will suck really doesn't mean anything. It just shows you've decided that the movie will be bad before you've even seen it, no matter how good it actually may be.

They really know how to build up the hype.

Since people probably asked themselves how Dr. Okun was revived, I just came across this:

How Dr. Okun was able to return in Independence Day: Resurgence, according to Brent Spiner

In any case, that's weird after 20 years.

Remember when trailers used to be short and did not spoil a great deal of the movie? Yeah, those were good times...shit, I'm feeling old now.

And did Roland Emmerich just drop the Petronas towers on London? *rubs forehead*

It's funny and has a good sequel hook.
