What Mikiya was doing was getting to her even though she pretended like she didn't care. Her biting her thumb was just a nervous habit.

Got to chapter 4 from this movie series, it's ending theme has to be my favourite yet. From now I'm watching material I did not read or spoil myself about from the novels, so hopefully it'll only get more interesting.

Well, the movie 5 DVD is out. It looks pretty awesome, as usual. I took a bunch of screencaps from the ISO (spoiler warning!) if you can't wait for the raw or the subs.

I'm watching it at this moment, but boy is it difficult to get some of these dialogues. To the fansubbers.. *hint hint* Visually it can be annoying at times with those flashy camera movements, but storywise another solid episode. The action sequence was pretty fluid. Half way through the movie...... back to watching..

Movie 5 was win.

I'm glad it was long to make up for movie 4. While movie 4 was good in its own way, it was way too short.

Fifth movie was really good, although If am not wrong a few things were different from the novel and there's one scene in particular which has left me a bit wondering...

In the final fight between Araya and Shiki, we know from the novel that the Shiki that is actually fighting Araya is her "third" personality, or actually the TRUE Ryogi Shiki, the one that's connected to the root of all things. Araya noticed this by Shiki's different behavior and responses to his questions on why she didn't fight Fujino seriously.

In the movie though, this part is not crystal clear: while I do get the feeling that Shiki's personality in that fight could still be the third one (might be hinted the moment she smiled at him and charged towards him), it's not made obvious since Araya himself doesn't seem to realize it as he does in the novel.

Now this could be an important detail, which makes me wonder how Ufotable will handle the Epilogue of the series...

Wonderful movie from start to finish, even if the repeating scenes lost me for a bit...

Araya was definetely as badass as he should have been, even if he "dies" quite a decent bit.

Then again, people never die when they are, well...you know what they say about people and dying.

The observation offends me a little. No fansubber should care about "angry fans" when these fansubbers are giving up their own personal time and energy to bring something to a broader range of people, and to top it all, they are doing it for nothing more than personal satisfaction (i.e, pride, e-fame, and etc..).

Anyway, let's not dwell on fanubbing. Let's discuss the movie instead.

Thank you!!! Now I understand why the last scene is about where Tomoe and Shiki is seen as a reflection of each other.

From the beginning to the half way through, the same event/places were recounted from two different perspective. That last fight between Araya and Shiki, and then the last scene was puzzling to me. Now I better understand it thanks to your observation.
