BTW, I saw someone bring up a most interesting theory about Livebearer at another forum:
We all saw how he seemed to be "eating" something through that tube thing in the back of his head, right? Well, also recall earlier in the chapter the gangster guy who killed the thief had ordered to have any organs that would "work with a brain" removed from the thief's corpse. So.... maybe that was what Livebearer was "eating" at the end of the chapter? If so, that could be what he was talking about when he said he wanted to add the two kings to his collection, as well. I've gotta admit, the idea of a villain who nourishes himself with human organs would be surprisingly gritty for a shounen manga (considering this theory is true, at least)..... |

Well..... yeah, but I meant more "gritty" in the sense that we may actually have what's pretty much a cannibalistic villain on our hands. Cell doesn't count since he was some bio-mutant freak, and Zeff eating his own leg in Sanji's flashback was also a different story since that was more of an act of survival. But in this case we've apparently got some dude who regularly injects human organs into his brain, which is just..... wow. I hope Shima gives us more details on Livebearer's character in the next chapter..... |

I pretty much figured that Coco would dominate in the casino. On the other hand, it doesn't look like Toriko and Komatsu's food luck was so great this time around.....

Yeah, the whole "betting lives" thing reminded me a bit of Kaiji/Akagi, as well. Of course, the gourmet casino's games are a lot more extreme, what with the shark tank game and poison berry games and all. And now I'm further convinced that Livebearer is consuming human organs since the casino staff even implied that humans could be considered "ingredients"...... |

I'd be surprised if it wasn't. Mitsutoshi has been making sure that we don't forget about that interesting aspect of Komatsu's character, so it would be a shame to see it slip into the shadows now.

^LOL, I had forgotten that Grinpatch was also a cannibal. Well, the Bishokukai certainly DID put Livebearer on their most-wanted list, so maybe he will make an appearance for this storyline.
BTW, I'd love to see Komatsu have a reaction similar to this if (when) he sees Livebearer eating his human snacks: |

Some thoughts.
Premise: 1) We now know humans are considered ingredients 2) Humans, especially the strong ones like Toriko and co go through cell evolution and body composition changes as they eat or somehow get stronger. 3) Thus far the tastiest food are all either the strong or hard to conquer. In fact the harder to obtain or stronger the beast, the tastier and more "nutritious" the meat/plant. Possible scenarios: 1) The stronger the human, the tastier and more nutritious they are if eaten. So the old men should be quite tasty. And it also means that in future, fights should end with them eating their opponents and therefore getting even stronger. Gives them room to pull a Mohamed Ali and bite off an opponents ear for starters =D 2) "God"/that fabled ingredient/dish is actually a creature (possibly some evolved/ matured nitro) or even a human who has eaten all the best ingredients in the world and has therefore evolved to an unprecedented degree to become a perfect being. |

Pretty sure you're thinking of Tyson, not Ali. And to be honest, I think it would be hella disturbing for the good guys to gain power-ups through cannibalism..... |

Hahaha, human as food, such a great concept. However, when you look at itdidn't Toriko and gang been eating human indirectly all the time? Human is part of the food chain. Monster eat human, human eat monster.
Speaking about GOD and evolution, it kind of reminds me of theory of evolution. If everything comes from a single cell, isn't that cell consider the beginning and GOD since it create all other creature. GOD could be the ultimate creature but I believe it could be a single large ancient cell. I wonder how a large cell taste like. |

Yupz it would be pretty disturbing. If DBZ managed to do it (Cell and even Vegeta was shown eating an alien hand), Toriko may be able to spice it up with cooking, seasoning and proper preparation hmmz OT but now that I think of it DBZ had quite a bit of cannibalism in a broad sense of the word. One of the guys ate one of Piccolo's offspring and claimed it tasted good. Would be interesting if they thought of Piccolo as not a friend but food source |
