Starting off with a naked Akari Kito redhead encased in ice? Okay, you have my attention .

So in a world where Gods' play challenges with humans in their divine realms and gift them Arise abilities so as to better compete and with the prospect of being able to use those powers in the real world (which seems kind of necessary when this version of Earth still has dinosaurs and giant scorpions), Apostles with the Arise fervently challenge the Gods .

Oh hey, Alice from Our Last Crusade! Didn't expect to see you there .

Enter Fay, an earnest and up-and-coming Apostle voiced by Nobunaga Shimizaki in search of his redheaded mentor who taught him to love and expertly play games...who has an eerie resemblance to "former God" Leoleshea who wants to engage in a game with him .

And by "former God" it mostly just refers to how she's stuck in the human world, she still has all her powers as a God and she can get her game face going and destroy everything if you tick her off .

Oh hey, Ami Koshimizu as Fay's boss! We're getting a double dose of her on Mondays .

I guess for two people who practically get turned on by games or challenges, introducing yourself via a game makes sense. Though the fact that Lesha is wearing form-fitting loungewear and no underwear (not understanding the concept herself) with ample cleavage is quite distracting all its own .

So Lesha wanted to experience the challenge of gaming alongside humans, even if it meant losing her status as a God...but if she's able to win 10 games then she'll get her chance to go back and humanity will gain access to whatever they so desire. Not a bad deal, especially when she sees Fay as the perfect partner .

And already jumping into their first game and Lesha wearing an Apostle uniform! Did she just transform herself into that outfit? Is she still commando ?

Oh hey look, a cute Misaki Kuno character! And a giant golem. Let the games begin .

Why does every "game" series have a main heroine with bright red hair? Hmm... First episode was decent enough, I'll probably give it at least one more episode.

So this time around the gimmick is gods... and the MC is already the best player in the world, oh boy, can't wait for the white haired girl and the black haired yamato nadeshiko, maybe the big tiddy brown haired childhood friend that will never win, we already have the teacher, oh yeah, and possibly the male friend character that is either a pervert or the most beta dude ever.

Kidding aside, so far it's... okay? This episode wasn't exactly hype or interesting, but at least it was watchable.

Yeah. I might watch it since there isn't much to watch today outside of Train, but I have absolutely no expectations for this based on Ep1

episode 1 was just an introduction, so not much to say about it.
i keep on it till the first actual gods game to see the dynamics, but not holding much hope.
Games anime peaked at No Game, No Life, I guess.

I'm not sure if he actually is the best, he says there are Apostles who are more skilled than he is, but he might have a better aptitude and potential.

I thought that was a decent start. Fay and Lesha have solid chemistry and I appreciate them both really getting a lot out of games like that. Made the introduction via games choice a fitting one. And while the information itself was nice, it was good to see them both enjoying the process.

And I think having Lesha have such presence and threat level kind of allows this one to stand out a little bit. Lesha was absolutely treated like a legit danger and she totally is. Of course being afraid to piss her off is a possible way to actually do just that . Thankfully Fay navigated things nicely.

Curious about the exact nature and application of Fay's Arise. Labelled as someone that won't die, but I'm still a bit curious. Guess we'll find out fast since Lesha isn't the type to waste her time.

A nice thing is that there is definitely risk and reward. With so much of the world impossible to explore it makes sense that people would jump on this. It's not just about getting powers that they can use outside of the games if they win, but there's practical benefits to society. Even for Lesha there are some risks here. I presume she's under the same rules as everyone else. If she loses too much that's it. Her very long lifespan will be spent on Earth and she'd presumably never be able to get back.

That was pretty solid.

I guess if you want the best team for winning God's game, you want the game master boy who can't die or be effected by effects and the former God who still has plenty of power and strength who is just as clever about games as he is .

I can kind of see why humanity hasn't won a lot of games against the Gods when they're so fickle and tell you the absolute bare minimum about how to actually play the game or win...including making you figure out how to actually win yourself. And that's not even getting into how you have to survive against a giant Titan !

Did they really need to princess carry all the other girls? I get Leshea probably has inhuman stamina and running ability, but like...could none of the other girls competently run? I guess it would've been hard for Asta in that skirt .

This was not Asta's day! First she gets stomped on, turned against her team, and then gets covered in garbage to get saved...not to mention Fay ordering her around despite being her junior. Though she was pretty instrumental to saving the day .

Fay and Leshea really are a great team who are absolutely in-synch when it comes to their thoughts and understanding of games, and how much they enjoy it. Fay is also probably the most Leshea's been interested in a single human, and they're possibly a mutual cure for their loneliness at a lack of a game partner .

So this wasn't a game of hide-and-seek + tag but also...human Reversi! Which makes turning the tables and the game board against Titan all the more satisfying !

Good thing Titan's not a sore loser, especially when the building Fay was on was about to crumble, but he could have talked the whole time !

It can't be a coincidence that Fay's mentor and Leshea have the same hair color, even if it doesn't make any sense for Leshea to have been around or be old enough to hang out with Fay .

We skipped the OP again, but here's the cute ED featuring more Leshea and Fay and his future Harem (I assume) on their daily life !

These god games are a real tricky bit of business. Even figuring out the darn rules can be part of the game. No wonder the success rate is so darn low.

MC is in absurd shape. Some characters were running around (even if carrying others) using their powers to help. But he just kept running almost the entire time without running out of gas. Unless his power even counts exhaustion as a negative status effect which I suppose could mean that it could restore him from even that...

There is bound to be some sort of reason for Leshea and that mysterious mentor to look similar. Her being frozen at the time isn't really much of an issue. We're talking about gods here. Maybe in the future she time travels to meet Fay. Sounds like you get pretty much unlimited wishes from clearing the challenges. So no reason she couldn't go back to meet Fay, teach him about games, and then return to the future as a god. It's not certain that Leshea is the person that Fay can barely remember, but I think it's still very much on the table.

Leshea is a total win for humanity. Her physical ability is through the roof, she's extremely clever, and even if she doesn't have access to all her powers...that doesn't mean she can't do some serious damage in battle games and such.

Time for humanity's win streak to get rolling!

- How the hell are they even outrunning Titan going at full speed?

- Whats the point of obscuring rules? It's not like the God's need the advantage, the best that I can come up with is that finding out the hidden rules is supposed to be a sort of meta game, it doesn't make the games look smart, it just feels like bs that exists only so that the MC can come off as smart while no one else can figure out the hidden rules.

- Am I supposed to be amazed at the MC figuring out the obvious?

- Wait, how did Titan just teleport next to the MC and destroy all of the buildings while he went up a few set of stairs?

- How convenient that his ability is the perfect counter to the game.

- Leolesha is clearly the woman he met when he was little, why keep it a secret when it's this obvious? There's no mystery.

So far this anime isn't exactly interesting, it's way too generic. This is giving me the same exact vibes as the other show where the MC had to fake being the best, and that is that the games so far are very undewhelming and will not feel like they will have the tension they are trying to convey.
