The Op redraw some of the scenes from the first season, just look at the difference in lighting and shading and composition: Spoiler for Pretty big, so here's a spoiler to hide stuff:
It's not like S1 "looks" bad per se, but that it is pretty uninspired. What was bad were the 60 second Stills were at some point you were not sure if they trolling you or if this actually was this long. And the ten to fifteen minutes recap, oh lord were those bad! Like in case when S2 had a Still moment it wasn't 60 seconds long and we had SOMEONE actually move/react like it happened on the Galo ship with Reghi reacting to his teammates Input. In S1 we didn't had that at all, there weren't even blinks, just people staring at each other for a full minute without saying a word or moving a muscle, it was horrible. Quote:
One which we all thought would never continue because of Ashihara's condition and the endless hiatus. So glad he came back AND that he even got a new season for his anime.

Really good episode, even the snipers landings had different sounds for each landing, Wen's eye scan had sound effect, the step-up follow on Nasu's retreat, the great mix of fast action with slow-mo impact scenes in the hangar, the amazing monkey business of the Yomi Trion soldiers - it was all just really really really good to watch and went by what felt like 5-6 minutes!
Good, I hope that they can keep this kinda quality up, that would make me one insanely happy WT fan. <3 I liked how cool Tachikawa sounded when he said to the spoiler that he gonna get cut in half that it makes him excited or how quick Ko reacted and got covered by Konami and Kazama as else he would have been a goner with the two dogs attacking from both sides. Or Konami's quick glance before firing her Meteor showing her real intent. Or their smooth blade defense vs the flying discs, especially Konami looked great here. <3 <3 <3

This episode was fun. The battles inside and outside are unfolding really nicely. There's good tension for all of them. A major challenge to be sure in protecting that ship.
Pretty good job by this season considering the main characters haven't really appeared yet ![]()

I had a good chuckle of Ninomiya's teammate casually playing with Futaba's twintails. Another fantastic looking episode.

Team battles and strategies are really where this series shine. No other manga I know of go that deep. I'd say this series' only flaw is that there are too many characters. It's hard to keep track of all of them.

The animation is definitely a step down compared to the first two episode, but it's still looking good, not on par with the stuff we've seen in AoT or Jujutsu Kaisen but definitely way better than season 1.
Loved it when Jin using his Fujin in a super long range but I've got to say his side-effect is so broken.

Compared to the first season it is still worlds above especially the battle scenes. Sure some of the talking scenes looked bad and were reused stuff but I don't mind if they keep the fights snappy. Bit disappointed in the Nasu epic finisher, the manga scene looked way more epic, still good though. Really liked "the young one" and "for a child" part, Kazama being seen as a child despite being the oldest never fails to make me smile. XD

It really is brutal to attack Border thanks to Jin's side-effect
![]() Is scary in some ways that things are this dangerous even with that advantage of course. These attackers are no joke. If they really managed to attack with the element of surprise there would have been no stopping them. The animation may have dropped back a bit, but it was still pretty solid overall. Didn't have any trouble enjoying the action here ![]() This should mostly get wrapped up next episode I think. Then the main characters can take the stage again.

I know he's strong, but honestly, I have no idea why Border lets Jin fight alone. He should have people with him at all times to protect him giving how invaluable his side-effect is. He's the one person they can't afford to lose.
