Speaking of shoujo director, I hear Akitarou's handling the anime adaptation of otome game Meiji Tokyo Renka. It's one of those historical settings with ikemen-versions of famous historical figures, except here they're Meiji-era literati instead of the usual Sengoku daimyo/Bakumatsu samurai.

I suppose we can expect great things from him there.

Funimation announced for stream.

Funimation stated the anime will air in Japan on TV Tokyo in 2019, and Funimation will stream the anime on FunimationNow. Funimation also confirmed it has licensed the home video rights.

Not surprising when you consider how the original series was one of Funi's earliest licenses following the Dragon Ball franchise.

I'll be curious if Funimation brings back some of the VA's from the original dub instead of wholesale recasting everybody like on the Japanese side (as they did with Brotherhood), even though they'll likely have to recast quite a few characters (including Tohru).

I'm sure a few roles will be recasted, in particular Hiro (as, like Alphone Elric, the role was performed by Aaron Dismuke when he was still a kid) and Akito (for obvious reasons).

LOVED Iwami in the PV, but sadly, my main ship got blown to bits already. There's a consolation couple to be fair, but I'm not even sure if the new anime will get to that point. lol

I wonder how many episodes is this going to have i mean this basically confirmed to adapt the entire series two cours is definitely not enough hell even three cours would not be enough this probably needs at least four cours

It's not anyone's fault, but I miss Hochan already. The roots are so deep with this series it's hard not to be sentimental.

Whoa, I was so shocked when I came across this on Youtube. I remember dropping the original series when I learned that there wasn't a real ending to it (I was late in starting the series and never read the manga). Maybe I'll watch the remake this time.

(I'm still hoping for a Demon Eyes Kyo remake...any remote chance that might happen? )

Am I the only one who feels a bit odd to watch my childhood anime now at an older age...almost feels like time travel.
