Interesting, I thought they'd adapt the other Mew Mew Au Lait manga (the one with the female lead and magical boys).

The new show has finally aired.

Uh....it's a bit underwhelming I guess. I basically got what I thought I'd get.

It's weird they aged up the girls from middle school to high school....oh shit did the SJW crowd get to them?

on the other hand, the design changes make a little more sense that way.

IchigoxMasaya is STILL boring as fuck

I just don't care. I never did. They have zero chemistry. This version feels even worse because she's like "I'm in high school; I need a boyfriend! Guess I'll pick the first guy I see cause everyone else likes him too!" Ughhhhh I hate shallow relationships. And I could choose SEVERAL harem leads that are hotter and more interesting than Masaya; no joke.

The darker skin looks pretty weird on Ryou.

why even do that; his skin was light in the manga??

....kinda excited to see Quiche though...as well as the others.

The theme songs are.....meh. Maybe they will grow on me. The animation is also meh....but I expected that.

Well it good to see those girls again and Ichigo what to have a good highschool life and see needs a boyfriend so why not just take the tickets from someone who she just meet and disappeared just like that

As far as Shojo Magical Girl remakes go, I feel like this definitely had more energy and actual animation to it than Sailor Moon Crystal, which is appreciated. And the transformations and action animation are pretty solid

.

I also think the Opening and Ending are both really cute

.

I love how Mint agreed with Ichigo that a girls' first kiss is super important just not the priority when a giant rant monster is attacking them

But uhhhhhhhh yeah, I don't think we'll see another magical girl remake that was rock bottom as that was. At least I hope not.

I'm glad they eased up on the CGI for Ichigo's henshin....or if not, it's at least not super obvious to tell.

The henshins in SMC were awful.

That awkward moment when, "its high school" but girls are like they're in middle school. LOL.
Quite nice for first episode, I personally not expecting a lot of changes until it second season.

The 00's anime portrayed him with tanned skin too, design choice to distinguish him better.
