not mentioned.

ANN has already up-ed the news. It's pretty much the translated version of the notice from MF.

RIP, sensei T_T. Even if I don't follow his work that closely, an unfinished work is always something regrettable.

This is really terrible news. Rest in peace, Matsuno-sensei; I'll make sure to watch the inevitable second season of MM! for you.

RIP Matsuno-sensei.

It is a really fun series, and it is just going to end off like that. I wish someone could take over.

Haa...

I guess the only thing positive I can think of is that he managed to leave his name in history somewhere, with his novel's anime-ka.
Reminds me of that saying... What was it? "Would you rather spend a day as a lion or a sheep for a lifetime?"

I wonder what will happen to the manga?

According to Kanokon's author, he seemed to have fell sick last year (around when his Tweeter stopped, I believe), so the reason of death is likely to be disease.

If it went on for that long maybe he made some notes on how to end it or told someone just in case. If it is the case maybe we will get his end even if written by a different author

having an ending with a dead author..... I haven't seen one yet because most of the manga/novel that I know which abruptly put into an end with the death of the author wasn't been finished by others though I remember a shoujo story before which turn into an 2 cour anime that had another author to continue it because of something though not sure if it's the death of the author.

Probably Itazura na Kiss. Author Tada Kaoru died at the age of 38 in 1999 (domestic accident) leaving the manga, ongoing since 1991, unfinished. In 2008 a 2 cour anime was made, presenting a finale that was very close to the author's intents (I assume they used some of her notes).

you can't die from radioactivity in less than a month.
It was a good light novel, at least I loved the anime, a huge loss, just like Kaze no Stigma.

Rest in peace.

it's all just a matter if he was prepared or not. Perhaps what he was sick with was something he knew would take his life. In that case he might be more inclined to try and arrange certain things in the event of his death like notes for the rest of the story for someone else to finish for him.

Just read the notice of the author's death at Anime News Network. The story was really nice, too bad it ends this way. Kind of reminds me of Sunao Yoshida's Trinity Blood; if I'm not mistaken, suposedly Kentaro Yasui, his friend, is to end the novels but as of yet I haven't seen any new title

I wonder if someone will try to finish MM as well.

A note, but the 6th volume of the manga has been released (a couple weeks ago).
It seems that the manga-ka plans to end it with the 7th volume, so well, no hope of a proper ending to the story, it seems...

tis be the only thread that saddens me about a manga, not because of the ridiculously bad writing, but because of the unfortunate demise of the author

^Afaik they have not been translated.
Also, the author died a few years ago, so the series remains unfinished.

Is anyone still here? I watched the anime MM! a while back and fell in love with it, but I was recently wondering about the novel. I've looked at this thread multiple times, but I just have this one question. Would you guys say that Mio and Yuuno get roughly the same amount of attention throughout the series? I know that later on people have said it shifts toward Mio, but what about throughout the series? Thanks.
