I'm not sure if this was ever asked in the thread before but... Has anybody actually tried replicating any of the dishes shown in the manga so far? The nori bento looks simple enough to cook (found a tutorial vid in youtube). Getting the ingredients is the hard part, though.

if you can't find most of the ingredients improvise thats how a cook/chef rolls I could replicate some dishes that don't need science equipments and time... especially TIME I'm lazy to cook recently

^ Improvising is just a recipe for disaster for a beginner. I think that's how most of mystery food x that often shown up in manga is created.

Megumi will win. I mean, Megumi VS Soma is far more interesting than Soma Vs Hisoko. Plus, we already saw the potential of Curry boy, and Italy boy, so having Soma rematch against them is kinda redundant.

It is obvious that Gangsta dude is the final boss in this arc, so I can't see him lose now. Either the curry boy or Italy boy will job to him.

I tried making the jellied beef both with eggs form the second chapter...it didn't turn out as expected. Way too fishy.

He was the only one to have a reaction, and it seemed like a pretty common one based on what everybody said about it. kind of like a routine (boring) reaction to an emotionless dish.

I misspoke - the jellied broth is actually made with Dashi. It was not awesome.

Making the Aldini Tomato Curry Calzone!



Now, I made some touch of my own, since I don't have the skillset of the Aldini brothers.
I did keep the most important part though, use only the water from tomatoes.

Brief instructions.... (with pics)

Part 1 - the sauce

Spoiler:

1. Thaw a loaf of frozen bread bun (room temperature thawing can take 3 hours, I shortended it by defrosting in the microwave for 2min, and thawing for 1 hr)
2. simmer tomatoes in a cook pot. When the skin is loose, peel them off and put the tomatoes back in the pot. (squeeze the skin for extra tomato-y water!). Make tomato sauce as usual, but you can leave out spices since we're adding curry. I did use some garlic and herbs though.
3. Dice some onions, fry them with sausage, and add to the pot.
4. Add curry (I used curry roux since that's easiest, but you can use curry powder + flour as well)

Part 2 - the bun

Spoiler:

1. Split the thawed bun into 1/3 (one meal)
2. Stretch it with a roller
3. Add the sauce
4. Top some mozzarella cheese and pepperoni
5. Fold it, and press the closed edges with fork for patterns
6. Brush beaten eggs on top of the bun. I also sprinkled a bit of mozzarella to give crusty baked cheese.

It was awesome. Very tomato, yet very curry.
I didn't post the amount of ingredient or recipe because I kinda cook by feeling and add as I go.
