Matches: E1-1 F1-1 G1-1 H1-1
Saki may not be as strong as they used to be but Mihoko used to among the strongest Saki characters. She shouldn't have too much trouble with her opponents. Shinobu is the big favourite in the second match. Her opponents aren't likely to be able to challenge her. None of the characters in the third match are all that strong. I think Ai Astin will win but it's anyone's game. I want to say Himeko win the fourth match but I'm not sure. Even if she's not that major a character, Fujimiya Shiho may put up a fight. I'll side with the Saki character, though. Votes: Fukuji Mihoko Kosegawa Shiromi Ai Astin Tsuruta Himeko Predictions: Fukuji Mihoko Oomiya Shinobu Ai Astin Tsuruta Himeko

I'm thinking 'combo beaker' might be on this year myself. Saimoe has a knack of going in three tournament cycles, shoujo 2002-2004, Supernaturally 2005*-2007, Tsundereation 2008-2010, and the past three years of Broken Girls 2011-2013
*Nanoha is just about a mecha by some standards. Super = above.

- Only real surprise was Suiseiseki was leading most of the match. Eli with the late support wins her match for Love Live.
- No combos today. Suehara wins for Saki but Usuzawa was not strong enough to keep up with Suiseiseki/Eli. Yuno was only able to pick up 2nd for Hidamari but is still around for Repchange. Miyako misses out on repchange finishing 3rd to Madoka and Hozuki. (E1-1) Picking: Mihoko (Saki) (F1-1) Picking: Charlotte Belew (Unbreakable Machine Doll) (G1-1) Picking: Naze Mitsuki (Beyond the Boundary) (H1-1) Pick Preference: Himeko (Saki) > Tamako (Tamako Love Story) (Triple Saki combo?)

Sigh...Yuno...sigh...
So, 2/4 means I'm 8/16 overall...simply horrible... Eri won against DESU. Neither are my favorite from the series anyway but at least LL picks up a win after Honoka loses badly... For next round: Spoiler for Picks & Prediction:

Kotone doesn't do as well as I thought she would. Even if she did lose, I expected her to get a bit closer to Megu. Eli and Suiseseki tied in preliminaries but this time Eli came out ahead. It did turn out to be a close match, though. No problems for Madoka as she advances to face Toki. I should have had more faith in Suehara Kyouko. In the end she does manage to beat Yuno.

Spoiler:
These were mentioned as provisional by Shasya on twitter, but seeing that there have not been any updates for the last 10 minutes, we can consider this official. Mitsuki delivers another upset in Saimoe. I placed her on my blog as a longshot to win, but it seems that she is performing far better in 2channel than ISML.

Other than that, Captain won as expected, (Omiya) Shinobu continues to show how strong Kinmosa is, and Shiho proves that she's no Kaori... So, 3/4 in prediction with Oshino Shinobu losing by a vote (Total 11/20). Getting better I guess. For today: Spoiler for Picks & Prediction:

Oshino Shinobu was leading all day, Mitsuki only managed to catch up with her in the last minutes and then goes and wins by just one vote. That was fun. Two Shinobus were too many Shinobus anyway. I like my Shinobus in moderation. There is only room for one Shinobu in round 2.
I'm glad that Mihoko and Oomiya Shinobu won. For a moment I thought Shiho had a chance there but the Saki final rush is deadly to all except to a selection of strong characters. My preferences today: E1-2: Nozomi (Love Live!) but it will be fun if Kyuubey wins. F1-2: Sayaka (Madoka) G1-2: Frenda (Railgun) H1-2: Jindai (Saki) |

Pretty easy win for Mihoko and an even easier win for Oomiya Shinobu as expected. Third match was a tough call but pick of Ai Astin actually came in last. Himeko has a solid win. I guess I worried about her too much.
Matches: E1-2 F1-2 G1-2 H1-2 Continuing on from last year, the Madoka series win streak is currently 22. However, this year the Madoka fan base decided to bring in some of their non-S tier characters. As a result that streak will break here. Barring a miracle, Nozomi should win this match over Kyubei. Sayaka being in the second match is unlikely to be enough to change anything. Sayaka should win, though. I don't expect much from Frenda or Koneko so Kuroha Neko should win. Third group is kinda weak so Jindai can probably win. Votes: Tojo Nozomi Miki Sayaka Toujou Koneko Kitayama Shizuku Predictions: Tojo Nozomi Miki Sayaka Kuroha Neko Jindai Komaki
