Well next episode looks good for a big fight. Sadly the nun is restricted from cutting Enjin into bits in it though. Somehow this group will have to win the day. Though they couldn't even touch the speed guy last time and now they've got an opponent on another level entirely.

Finally seems Akina's trying to keep things quiet has backfired. Even if nothing happened the fact that Enjin showed up near Ao once should have sent the message that they needed to take precautions. Like possibly telling the girl what had happened to her brother. Part of the guys character to take it all onto himself, but this time it really didn't benefit anyone.

So Youkai get drunk off water...No wonder they hand around humans so much. Drop them into a place with fresh water is like dropping a regular person into a place where the lakes are filled with alcohol .

At least the drunk party was good fun. Even having drunk Touka coming close to asking Akina how he felt about her . Went pretty well considering you had a bunch of people with special abilities drunk.

The anime has made several changes to various story points when compared to the manga. But I find the youkai getting drunk off of water to be one of the more intriguing changes. In the manga, they're drinking pure rice wine not water. Except for Kyousuke who's drinking coke. Also in the manga, everyone gets drunk including Akina and the coke-drinking Kyousuke. I wonder if the anime changed what they were drinking in order to keep from having so many underage people drinking alchohol? What is the legal drinking age in Japan anyway?

After having underage drinking censored in DCII SS in much the same way, I have no doubt in my mind that the same thing happened here.

The widescreen versions of the series are beginning to appear. I noticed that the OP had a slightly different effect by being WS, especially in the early sequence where Hime's hands are reaching for Gin's shadow. The WS version makes the scene even more poignant because you see more of Gin's shadow. But I haven't seen too much of note during the first episode. Admittedly, I haven't seen all of the first episode WS, still have the battle scene to go. But based on what I've seen so far, WS doesn't gain all that much. The pink sponsor page with the foursome is definitely nicer though.

Bit surprised they went that route to censor it though. I mean we're talking about changing something biological. Water making them drunk opens a whole series of issues in terms of living in a world where it rains and water runs through taps.

Though in the end it won't be brought up again so probably doesn't matter much. But guess they either decided to do that or take the scene out entirely.

While we wait for more episodes, I'd definitely like to recommend the OST. I'm not even the type that likes to listen to soundtracks, but this one was particularly worth the listen.

I didn't realize the OST was out. I definitely want to listen to it because the music has been one of the show's attractions for me. I hope that song in English that ends with "I don't have the answer." is on it. I want to hear a full version.

Yup, it's on there in full glory, second to last track, I believe. The music in this series threw me off at first because I was expecting standard anime background music, and here we receive great guitar rock.

Guess they thought they'd be kind and restrict the movement of that song . I'm waiting for a riot to come demanding the song be stopped . But suppose I can see the disappointment of it not being there.
