I honestly can't tell if Norman disappeared according to their plan or else something else happened (Mother whisked Norman away early, or Norman did something else after finding what Krone left behind). I'm leaning towards the latter possibility myself, but we'll see.
Huh, so that's how Ray knew- and how he knew where the tracking device was. And ouch, he experimented on himself quite a bit and he's been planning this for years. I wonder if Ray's memory is just a fluke or else a part of what makes their plant special. |

Figures escaping wouldn't be that easy (even if it was something simpler like a desert outside). So Norman is going to his death, but I wonder if he'll go quietly. There's still that thing Krone left behind, and Norman might try to put up a fight.
So he might have seen an exit point, but without him there to balance between the cynical Ray and idealistic Emma, hard to tell how much further their escape plan can go. We'll get at least one more chapter of Norman, but after that, well, we'll see. |

I still have a glimmer of hope for Norman since he didn't talk about the thing Krone left them. A very small glimmer, as his own narration has him determined to die for the sake of everybody else.

So...my prediction was off lol. Also, it looks like escaping wasn't all that simple to begin with. They were prepared for the chance that some of the kids may be able to get over the wall. They were right.

And so Norman is officially gone. Though he might not be dead, based on that last panel- or at least he might not have died immediately like the other kids died. Maybe the demons have something special in mind for the perfect kids?
Guess now the remaining eldest four have to cobble some sort of plan together. Looks like Norman took that thing with him, though I'm afraid we won't find out Norman's fate for a while. |

Given Norman's surprise, there is little doubt in my mind he is going to survive after all. He expected to be handed over to the demons to be eaten, and was greeted by something else entirely. Either his potential is so great they have decided to keep alive to make him work as a scientist or whatever, or Mama cooked up something to keep him alive. I've already said I don't think Mama's as evil as she seems, and I still think that (there is the Krone incident, but it's not like she was an angel. Far from it).

Ray's a pretty cool character. Giving the final FU to the demons and mamas who ensured he would die young.
Plus, he also just forced Emma to make her move tonight instead of her current plan. Although I always thought that taking any of the babies was foolish. Take all the kids 4 years and older, and plan a rescue mission a couple years later.
