I don't know what it was but this episode was disappointing; The fight scene just felt short and out of place. Maybe they should have just dragged the " before fight " stuff out and ended with a face off.

That was epic: a colossal battle with a surprisingly powerful pair and including a nice touch of backstory for Ryner. It'll be interesting to see how Ferris manages to pull him out of Alpha Stigma.

Nice catch on the map guys, haven't seen a series where they updated the map each episode since Avatar: The Last Airbender so I'll be checking that out in the next episodes.

Geeze, first I'm getting Nabari no Ou flashbacks from the pink haired brother (you just don't see that many pink haired guys do you?) and then HunterxHunter flashbacks from the whole "awaken the eyes or they're useless" bit.
Still didn't have quite as much punch as episode three does (it actually seems a bit silly that it was that easy to awaken the Alpha Stigma) but I liked this episode and all the RynerxFerris interactions in it. And, if it's not spoilery, could someone say if the flashbacks in this episode were before or after Ryner was at the orphanage (the one where he met Milk I believe)?

Well, as someone pointed out, LOL Heroes is not that popular. But well, Amagami SS has its own sub-forum and there's barely any activity there... All the same, even if there's a lot of material about LOL Heroes, most of it is in LN format, with no translations available. However, a LN thread for LOL Heroes may be able to solve this. Yet, it makes you wonder how many people in this forum have actually been following the LNs. I've only read some bits myself.

I'll cross my fingers for that. It's an entertaining show in the same way Slayers was, if you pardon my comparison. And light novels appear to be enjoyables, too.

Regarding episode 9

I suspect the purpose of this episode was more likeble for Ferris to learn and understand why she was assigned to be Ryner's bodyguard, what is he actually and how dangerous he is, as well as, of course, setting a scene of relationship level-up in the next episode.

I really don't think the cloths-off scene was gratuitous; it's a narrative tool that implies massive inner power going out of control and so. In fact, I was surprised he kept his trousers-like things (I don't know which is its name, sorry). And he sounded like a demon of destruction and void, it fits. It's not too original, it's poorly original, ok; but I honestly think it fits well.

Besides, I though the reason to why the alpha stigma bearers were considered monsters was because they contra-reacted almost unconsciously any magic attack faster than it's own caster and because they can unveil and copy unknowed secret magic spells from other nations. That in a world which is in incessant war, something like an alpha stigma bearer liked pretty dangerous to me, a random person without awesome magic powers. And now, pinkhaired brother says they go berserk and when they do so, they are destruction itself (something we guessed since episode 3); niiiiice, I can see the point.

What I missed was a better explanation to why the brothers were doing that mess, why they have all those relics (berserker crystal included), why they knew so much about alpha stigma bearers and relics... I mean, I guess (or hope) that they're going to explain all of it sooner or later, and I can guess the pink brothers are spyes from some great, powerfull, clever nation, an unseem new party in the game and all that. But It was an episode a little in a rush, wasn't it?

That certainly didn't make sense for us viewers, but I think fear doesn't need common sense. From what I know, this fear is much deeply rooted in the misfortune and destruction the monster(s) can bring (Yes, I put the (s) there for a reason), especially when they go berserk. The scale of destruction is unbelievable, as episode 4 (or was it 3?) and 9 would attest to. I guess the fear is so deeply entrenched in the people of the continent about Alpha Stigma and whatnot that even friends would turn against you.

In any case, I thought it was a pretty nice episode.

It seems like there's a tendency for people to transit into comedy from serious situations and back again, but the real gripe I have was perhaps the confrontation felt a little short, though understandably it could be meant to set up the stage for Ryner to go berserk and for some character, plot and relationship development.

There's a bit more more information on the Hero relics, now called 'Rule Fragme'. It's a potentially bit of knowledge that could develop into many other things, so I'm looking forward to that as well.

Another thing I liked was how they showed that Ryner wasn't exactly as carefree as he seems. This guy obviously had deep emotional scars from his childhood, and probably throughout his life which could very well have shaped his personality of just wanting to have afternoon naps and do little else. I'm very interested to see how Ferris stops him and how their relationship develops.

Forget the novel (Eris is totally ftw in those though)! I just wish someone do the manga(s)! Especially that new one coming out from in October that's focused on the side stories!!! This is the only part that I have no access to.

For those who don't know, you can read Legend of the Black Fallen Hero here (as with all the other SE's GGO series, first chapter will be available forever, but the new chapters will only be made available for the first period, then you have to buy the Tanks).

This means ALL PARTS OF NOVEL ARE GETTING MANGA ADAPTATIONS (there are currently 2 ongoing ones for the main and this one, a new one will be coming, and an already finished one that is kinda mixing the main with the side - confusing isn't it?)

Translating novel's a pain the ass, but getting raws and cleaner for manga are too, but still I wish these can be made more accessible cause i want them soooooooooooo bad =P.

Nice episode except I felt it could of have had more OOMPH to the awakening scene. I mean, like MOAR EXPLOSIONS and shocked faces, yeah. Definitely. The transitions between dialogue and what Ryner was doing felt odd. Still cool beans though.
