"The burden I bear is a greater one!"

I don't know why, but this is the best line of this episode for me. LOL.

If only Admiral is the judge instead of Nagato, I wonder what will happens ...

And feed him Hiei's purple special before having a taste herself.

*Ahem* So the general consensus is that the episode is delicious. If you know what I mean... (I'm talking about the curry obviously)

From a personal PoV, I'd have chosen Ashigara's curry but will still give the win to DesDiv6.
The staff have run away with the idea of Hiei's curry being as close to toxic waste as possible, which is a shame. However, Ashigara's curry seems to be the closest thing to southeast asian style of curry, especially Thai ("Ultra hardcore spicy" to quote the Wolf).

What would make me give the win to DesDiv6 is the fact that the winner's curry will be served for a whole year in the base. This means a lot of personel to cater to. I wouldn't want a lot of shipgirls to skip lunch because the curry is too spicy for them.

Ashigara, you are welcome to cook your ultra spicy hardcore curry for me =D

Pan-paka-pan nano desu.... this line already guaranteed victory for the 6DD

By the way... what's the connection of the word raiden to Inazuma's and Ikazuchi's names?

Anyway... all I can say to the 6DD... Wow! Congratulations!

It's a combination of Inazuma and Ikazuchi's kanji names. Ikazuchi's kanji 雷 = rai, meaning thunder / lightning. While Inazuma's kanji 電 = den, meaning electricity. Together 雷電 means thunder and lightning.

Ikazuchi is written as 雷 (usually read Kaminari. Thunder), while Inazuma is written as 電(flash of lightning). Coincidentally, 雷電 (raiden) means thunder and lightning together.
So if you put them together, you have some sort of pun in Japanese, although the reading obviously isn't the same.

Besides all the deliciousness, wow Akagi is really cute. It's amazing how she's such a glutton and those behaviors of her when it comes to it. I feel pretty much just like Fubuki with her senpai delusions that never seems to be broken easily (lol Kongou). Also wow Kaga. It's pretty clear that she and Akagi are sooo close. She did not care at all anymore about the contest once she noticed how happy Akagi is when eating hahaha.

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

I thought it was interesting that Naka didn't flip out like the other (several) times about Kirishima stealing her thunder, but actually adapted and played the straight man in the routine.

What, you never wore a pot on your head once when you were young? When I saw that I thought it was cute, and considering who resides at the base, maybe a bit of extra head protection is needed now and then.

She didn't actually repel that shell with her bare hand. It bounced off her barrier in front of her hand.
