Can anyone recognize the original artists for these? I know the one behind Siren is Clesta.



EDIT: Actually, upon checking the site, it appears that it's a nyuu multimedia project by Kenichiro Takagi (Senran Kagura) and Hiraku Kaneko (Seiken no Qwaser anime).

They're expected to put out an anime (titled Valkyrie Drive ~Mermaid~), a video game (Valkyrie Drive ~Bhikkhuni~), and a social/phone game (titled Valkyrie Drive ~Siren~),

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni’s Story Is About A Virus That Turns Girls Into Weapons

Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki is working on a new mixed media franchise called Valkyrie Drive, which features more transforming girls. The official website for Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni updates with new details on the story and how the girls transform into weapons.

In Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni a mysterious virus that affects girls in their teens and 20s suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Once this virus takes over, it can transform girls into deadly weapons.

Thus far, this special virus has been classified into two types: the “A-Virus” and the “V-Virus”. The world government decided to take measure by protecting these girls that have been infected by the virus by creating five man-made islands used to keep them safe and isolated.

The artificial island of Bhikkhuni became known for being able to successfully control the V-Virus. There’s an academy at Bhikkhuni, and they say that those who enroll there can successfully overcome the virus. That said, the girls decided to enroll with high hopes.


In this academy, there are sisters that have been infected by the V-Virus. The innocent Rinka Kagurazaka who possesses a hidden strength within her kindness. And Ranka Kagurazaka, the social and delicate caring sister.

Little do these girls know that there’s only one way to control this virus—by fighting between those who are infected.


As previously reported, weapon transformations are known as “Drive”. The “Liberators” are the player’s characters, while the “Exster” are the support characters. When the Synchro goes up, the Exster can transform into a weapon.

While the Exster is in a weapon form, you can activate the powerful “Drive Break” ability. There are several steps to weapon transformations, and increasing levels will lead to even more powerful weapons with different forms and abilities.

In order to perform a Drive, you’ll need to increase the Synchro Rate between the Liberator and Exster. Once you pull it off, you’ll also get to check out the pair’s special transformation sequence.

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni will release in Japan sometime in 2015 for PlayStation Vita.

The multimedia project Valkyrie Drive has been announced at AnimeJapan 2015 to consist of an anime series titled Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, a PS Vita game subtitled Bhikkhuni, and a smartphone game subtitled Siren.

Main cast and staff members and the studio were announced. The anime's first PV, which featured the image song, was also announced. The series is set on an artificial island called Mermaid where a fight unfolds between beautiful girls using ecchi battle styles.

Spoiler for Episode 1:

Finally watched the whole episode in raw, it gives us a lot of raw sexiness in every way possible, the only thing that made me feel a little upset was they are censoring at least one scene near the end despite airing with parental control warning during its premiere broadcast on AT-X.

Speaking of the service level, it introduces us a few important characters on the long run and then showcases girls of every body type and personality to satisfy pretty much everyone without feeling somehow jealous of the other. I actually also like that for the life of me, there's at least one character with gear-shaped nipples which might show a sign that this could further expand its ecchi levels with some unique pedigree.

As far the story goes, it felt pretty much like a typical magic school battle series we've seen dime a dozen before no matter the execution (we got at least few this season) only difference in that this one doesn't really have male characters in it, let alone the minor ones. As I was watching the battle sequences, I didn't really expect the transformations to actually go beyond kissing, the whole Liberator/Exter pairing is actually synonymous to the seme/uke roles. After finishing the episode, I was actually thinking there could be some possible genuine romance between Mamori and Mirei and I kinda hoped this would lead at least some sort of progression that goes more than just fanservice.

As for the production values, they do indeed look solid despite being far from perfect, I was also really enjoying the voice acting since it had many big names into the mix (based Asami Seto for delivering a good performance on Charlotte) and given the setting, I was really looking forward to see more of the scenery porn since it was designed in the most idealistic way possible.

It's too early to say anything else about the show so far, but I had really some high hopes for it and so long as it doesn't let me down too much, I'll plan to play its two side installments even though I have a sad feeling they won't be available outside of Japan (especially Siren since it seems like the kind of free-to-play mobage I'll play, doubt I'll get Bhikkuni because PS Vita is too costly for me to buy out in my country).

I won't be surprised on the other hand if they actually considered dubbing this, since Funi usually sell bilingual audios for the releases of the shows of this nature.

Sent an Kagura is safe material compared to many other series out there.

A better comparison would be Queen Blade or Seikom no Qwaser.

Well, the Vita game is being worked on by the studio that did do the Senran Kagura games. Take that as you will. But to the series itself, take Soul Eater and most blatant moments from Seikon no Qwaser and Queen's Blade and you get this. That's what I thought.
