It also happens in volume 20 as well, much to Senkawa's dismay

Oh yeah, also... "Tetsuwan Birdy" has now offically ended with volume 20! However, it'll be followed up by "Birdy the Mighty - Evolution" in with Senkawa and Birdy's adventures continues...
Do you know where I could download volumes 19 and 20?

If you like it now, just wait until you get into the second season.

I love this series, and it looks like extremely likely that we may be getting another season.

The series started out awesome, but from what I understand of both seasons

Spoiler for spoilerish for endings:

and while the animation was pretty good... having watched the OVA's, I'm going to say the OVAs were better than the remake, mostly because of the fact that in the originals, Tsutomu was pretty useful. There's a bunch of other factors too, but adding them in would be unfair due to this being an original series

Tetsuwan Birdy the Might DECODE. thoughts

It happens that today as of recently I've succeeded at watching the final episode to Birdy season one.

I don't know the reasons as to why I pushed myself to look at this anime, since when it started broadcast way back on July 2008 it never crossed my mind to look forward to it.

Then season two of Birdy came back in January and read how several fans were making an uproar of excitement about this anime.

Afterwards, season finished on March, but then after the angst built within me about what was so intriguing about Birdy, then I decided to hop on the ride.

Certainly, both the story and the action plus drama settled a good score upon me.

The story at time deliver quite a few twists keeping itself plain and straightforward, but they did well at pulling through with the action scenes and particularly the overflowing relationship between Tsutomu and Sayaka.

Forgive me if this has already been asked and answered, I did not see this in the first few pages and didn't feel like browsing through 26 pages worth:

Any word on a 3rd season of Birdy?

Directed by someone who has actually read the manga? If so, sign me up.

I hope they make one too BTM is one of my all time favorite animes. I haven't watched decode 2 yet, but with that said, I don't think they continue after the original OVA. I'd like to see what happens after the OVA. If that ever got animated, that'd be great. I never read the manga, is it finished there?

How closely to the manga does this series follow. And, how many volumes does season 1 and 2 adapt?

Complete different main plot. Only the general premise is kept, also the main villain is present for both even though they are pulling strings of thing in the anime while they have more involved in the manga.

That's to bad, because there is like 20 volumes of the manga.

Tell me about it. I'd love to see a seriously loyal adaptation of the manga.

I'm curious, when I searched 'birdy' I only got Decode. http://animesuki.com/series.php/1258.html and 02.

There was a Tetsuwan Birdy 4 ep OVA in the 90s, is it licensed, or would it be okay to host on a tracker? Since that's probably what some might want to watch first and if it is available, might interest people in purchasing the Decode sequels.

I believe it was licensed by ADV ages ago. Could be wrong, tho.

I just finished watching the two seasons, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was a great series. I definitely liked season two more than season one since Naturu made a great and interesting character. I really liked Senkawa and Birdy's relationship aswell, though it never really struck me as romantic at any point. I was glad to see Sayaka at the end since I actually really liked her and thought her and Senkawa made a great couple. I really wish there was a season three since there seems to be a couple of loose threads, but what can you do. Apparently the manga is completely different so i'll check it out at some point. Overall I'd give the anime an 8/10.

Hey, what do you know? I had no idea there was a thread for this anime (then again, I don't hang around the sub-forums a lot, lol). Mind if I chime in?
Spoiler for tl;dr:
