Figured I'd give this a shot since I knew of the game but never really gave it a chance. Feels incredibly low budget somehow; thought I was watching keyframes at times. Relatively generic so far but with two cour you would hope for something more. I guess we'll see.

This is gonna be 2-cour, and they are trying to Pokemon-release a sequel to the game. Sounds counterproductive to go low-budget when you are spending so much effort on advertising this series.

Blue Reflection series actually put more focus on the story and character interaction rather than the action. 60-70% of game story is about main character goes around talking, helping and fixing other students problems everyday life at school. The real cause for their problems are usually revealed to be something from 'meta world' (where the fight will actually take place) affected their emotion.
If Blue Reflection Ray follow the similar story, I don't think low budget will hurt it that much. Actually, IMO, while the drawing and the art style don't look impressive, they get animated quite well in the fight scene. Look like It want to be "stylish' rather than "high quality". Not sure what they are going to do with 24 eps.

Ep.9
So, This is a kind of alternate world. I thought it was strange that none of 'Monsters' that Reflectors need to fight (in the game story) appeared in anime. (expect in flashback) Beside the name dropped (Lime and Yuzu), there are no other strong connection to the game. However, I think the anime's story might happen before the game's story.

All this time I thought Shino was a helpless girl due to her condition, but it seems she has been pulling the strings from the beginning, she is in full control of what's going on.
I think Yuri Saiki has made a couple of appearances now, I wonder if we will see more of her and if she will become important as this show continues.

episode 2 and 3:
better than episode 1. I'm also getting used to the art style. from what I understand so far.. there's our protagonists, the good reflectors.. Ruka and Hiori who prefer that girls deal with the stress on their own, and then there's reflectors who want to "steal away" the trauma that a person is experiencing. also that girl with chains is quite strong.. now I'm curious on the reason why she is doing these things. score improved from 3/10 to 6/10.
