When Mumyoi was impaled by Saito's Gatotsu Zero, I think even Kaoru and Megumi were shocked by how violent he was. Even Watsuki stated in volume 7 that the readers initially hated Saito for his personality. I guess it got better considering he appeared in most top tens of the popularity polls.

Anyway....

After sooo many years, please dont blame me not remembering stuff that happened in the original manga. To me, this new serialization came as a surprise. But I wasn't feeling excited, not sure why. It's just been too long

What's interesting is how the new arc's designs of the Kamiya Dojo and Akabeko follow the live-action movie sets. Watsuki must've liked them enough to incorporate the movie's designs into the series.

Anyway, I read the chapter just yesterday. Liked it. I wonder if Kaoru's father really has amnesia like some people were speculating earlier? If that's really the case, it be really sad. I hope he doesn't have amnesia, although that would make his pose in that photographer stranger than it already is.

That being said, I'd like to know how he survived even though his family thought he'd died.

Ashitaro is bad for bribing Kenji. Hopefully Kaoru can still raise him into a good guy (read: not troublesome or with bad morals or whatnot).

Did a bit of research about Hokkaido in this series' year. Kaoru's father could be related to the Ainu people and Saito's mission could be related to the Russian's appearances in Japan. Hokkaido is also quite big as it was divided into 3 sub-prefectures so finding Kaoru's father might take quite too much.
