Tasogare Otome x Amnesia author Maybe's new work.

First volume just released and yes, it carries that characteristic mix of tragedy and comedy found in Tasogare Otome. Thoroughly enjoying it so far.

Story revolves around Hank and Char's journey to hunt down the former members of the "Divine Troops," humans who were turned into various mythical creatures as living weapons in a brutal civil war. Char's father was one of them (a dragon-like creature) who was killed by Hank.

Also, I want more harem indicators. Tasogare's are too few.

I started reading this because I liked Tasogare Otome x Amnesia and was surprised by how different it was to the usual fare by this author. I'm curious enough to want to see where this series goes.

Esp. that somnium is likely alive, and is trying to escape its mineral prison by implanting the knowledge inside Elaine (no thanks to the Church priests trying to exploit the knowledge as divine will). And of course if Cain even realizes the truth of it all.

I always thought the little girl with Cain was one of Elaine's experiments into creating test-tube Incarnates from scratch which already have power in them; an alternative to implanting somnium cores into human test subjects because the success rate was so low.
But that would explain why she at least looks human, compared to Cain's experiments that look and act more like lab-grown monsters.

From what I understand from the raw is that the priest tells Cain that in order to continue his research he will need to find a new saint, someone who can hear God's voice like Elaine. The last page implies Schaal will be the new Saint.

I forget, but was this also the same priest who recommended weaponizing Elaine's research for North Patria claiming it was a sign from god?

Also, was whole Patria Church complicit in the somnium saint scheme, or was it just that priest and his followers?

Arachne appears to be an ally. She's with Cain but isn't sure of his course.

Cain is launching an all out suicidal attack on the Northern capital. They cannot win....The North's entire strength is gathered there. Arachne is thus asking Hank to stop him before he kills them all.

Evil priest man Fergerson who corrupted Elaine is with Cain. He had found out that Cain was continuing her research and tells Cain to show him his lab saying he had acquired snippets of Elaine's work.

As expected, Cain thinks the Incarnates should have more of a future than to be simply put down after the war. He's trying to perfect the Incarnate creation process as a result.

Priest tells him his research is lacking a critical component, blood of a holy maiden. IE blood of a female who is susceptible to the Somnium's influence. This will form the core of an Incarnate.

Hearing the truth of the Somnium, Cain thinks the rock is a demon. Priest says that God indeed does not exist yet. His faction is trying to bring about the Second Coming by obeying the rock.

Apparently, the Incarnates will give rise to "God" and the priest thinks that once, God was in the spirit of the world but God has somehow fossilized into the Somnium rock and the priest wants to revive it.

Elaine's blood had long rotted after her death so a new holy maiden is needed. That's obviously Schaal

TL;DR.....God of Katsu Kami world is practically a dinosaur lmao

Also poor Arachne. She screams "gonna be betrayed and offed by Cain in a most tragic manner"

Yes, I think he's the only priest to have appeared so far unless they all look similar. And the priest is from a heretic faction

Assuming it even is god at all. It could be space aliens for all we know.

I assume the anime will cover the 1st 30 chapters; are the remaining 24 chapters enough to make a S2?
