I'm beginning to wonder if it'll be aired at all

Widescreen TV's are much more prevalent in Japan than in America, which makes the decision to broadcast in 4:3 pretty bizarre.

KyoAni has nothing else to do, and no, FMP4 doesn't count.

Next spring, mark my words.

And yeah, I still don't see why TBS won't broadcast widescreen... ah well...

It's not technically made by KyoAni, only animated by them, to start with.

And, if I recall correctly, the current story arc in the novels still isn't finished.

And FMP's fans aren't nearly as loud as those of the God-Empress herself.

Well, I'm sure TBS has a good reason. You see, they... um... well, they...
...
Actually, no. There's no reason at all. WIDESCREEN FTW!

God, I hope they pull it together before Haruhi 2.

Be careful of what you wish for... a Re-release of Munto 1 and 2 was announced for release in Spring 2009.

And yes, I wish it weren't true:

...That is what I was referring to.

I know about it. I don't care. Munto seems fairly interesting anyway.

As with all things, my default impression about this is... Wait and see. I can still afford to wait for Haruhi, for a bit longer, as it IS the novels that I follow. The anime was just flavoring.

Now, back to the topic... Yukine's up next, and judging from some spoilers, we'll jump into the start of After Story soon afterwards. While I'll feel a little sad to see her (and some of the others) go, I still can't help but wonder about some things. Like Kotomi for example, who despite NOT appearing in AS , still retains a prominent place in the OP. Will they expand her role somehow?

I'm so sorry this is kind of off-topic, but I don't know where best to put it, and I had to share.

Last night, I went with my family to see my younger brother's university symphony concert. Before the university symphony took the stage, a high school orchestra performed.

They. Were. HORRID.

I'm trying my best to maintain my composure. God bless 'em, they're trying. Then my husband borrows my pen and scribbles something down on the program. I look at what he wrote:

"Kotomi-chan?"

...I lost it. Right there in the middle of the concert.

Is it me or am I the only one who thinks Clannad ~After Story~ is better than the 1st season? While I liked the first season a lot, I find AS to be more enjoyable, better romantic and comedy scenes, so far it has made me laugh more than 1st season did and not a single disappointment up to now either and the feeling that I want to kill somebody to get my hands on the next episode >.<'.

I have to disagree- After Story doesn't seem to have the polish both script and animation wise that the first season had. The first 5-6 episodes of season 1 really pulled you in, whereas what I've seen hasn't made me laugh hard or shed a tear, and the above is what's so great about Kyoani Key adaptations!

Then again, I prefer Kanon to Clannad.

I'd consider the first 13 episodes of the second season to be in the same arc as those of the first season (school life). So we are more like in season 1.5. For the real second season wait for ep 12,13. Not that is is bad, the remaining mini arcs should meet most people expectations.

Pretty sure the reason is to give people more of a reason to buy the DVDs. Like, "Hey, the version we're showing you is cropped and has washed out colors! Oh, you want to see the show as it's supposed to be? Well, BUY THE DVDS!!!!" (I'm not sure if the broadcast has washed out colors, but looking at a screenshot on some random scan that just showed up in the image-thread a few hours ago, the colors there look a lot sharper than in the episode.) Same reason why the show was apparently MADE in High Definition, yet the HD-version shown on TV is still just an upscale.

I reaaaally hope Haruhi 2 actually COMES OUT. I mean, god, how long has it been since they first announced it?
...And then I hope for a Little Busters-anime and a Planetarian-movie.

After watching the whole first season along with the 2 extra episodes. Do you guys think that KyoAni would make Tomoyo After extra episodes right after they finish with the After Story arc just like the Tomoyo Chapter in the first season?
