Index provides a good deal of background that makes certain things much clearer in Railgun.

I'll marathon it then. Or just 'research' and watch the episodes that matter. Reading the manga now. Very fun.

Railgun is awesome... supposedly there will be another spin off of the series which will feature mahou shoujo index with more index which can't be bad since index seems to be lacking in her series and anime.

I think you can do that, since some bits of Railgun actually start before the anime. Just read up a bit of the first 6 episodes, skip to the Accelerator arc, then you should have enough background for a Railgun run.

Index has the biri~biri imouto army, that alone is worth the watch.

Im not really that excited over To Aru Kagaku no Railgun going anime, but it might be nice.

Also this might be a hint that there will be a season 2 for To Aru Majutsu no Index! Since To Aru Majutsu no Index was populer enough for them too make To Aru Kagaku no Railgun.

So I think that they are going too lunch a maybe 12-13 episode of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun too build up time for more development for To Aru Majutsu no Index.

I read what manga has been released and I must say that I am looking forward to seeing this animated. I recognize that Misaka is a great character in her own right, but I find the portrayal of the scientific side of the world in the manga to be far more compelling than the original works.

Not to say Index is bad, but in comparison I see Railgun to be much better.

An anime for this? Why am I not surprised

The only complaint I have about this series is not enough ToumaxMikoto moments... but at least when Touma appears, he is badass (unlike in his own series for the majority of the time... the problem between the two is that what one series lacks, the other makes up for, so you kind of need both to fully enjoy everything)

But otherwise... this should get interesting. I suppose I'll watch it (so long as they do the Touma scenes right!)

and if Railgun is a success, they will make Accelerator next.
(the sinister higher-ups and their machinations need to be unveiled by... someone who have little moral compunctions.)

it would be fun though to see the !To aru!-Universe going into DBZ lengths, there are so many possibilities, like earlier Index Days - Kanzaki plotline - Imouto plotline (could be like Minami-ke, Imouto-chan and the everyday life) etc. etc.

The actual scan was posted over on Canned Dogs. Of note that it still doesn't say that it's a TV series, but we'll see. This timeframe would work either way.
