Well, aside from the fact that no one seems to remember that female!Natsuru is supposedly going out with male!Natsuru. Isn't that answer enough for you, Sakura? Keep your pants on. No, wait, I didn't mean that. Proceed.

[QUOTE=KaneDragon;2734925]She doesn't have to name a specific person, just "someone on the guy's side". Female!Natsuru would still get pestered about who said guy is, but it couldn't be worse than male!Natsuru getting pestered by both sides for being liked by female!Natsuru.
well, that's exactly what she said in the manga, only the anime has her said thad so don't take the anime'staff mediocrity on shizuku(seriously the adaptation is horrible, almost all action scene were removed just for fanservice;a shame, the story has potential) |

But they did that in order to streamline the story to concentrate on the IMPORTANT aspects, and at this point of time that's _not_ the fighting
In merely 4 episodes, they managed to establish 1) The fairly crazy background story 2) A total of 4 main characters with the 5th already sketched 3) A love pentagon which will soon become a hexagon 4) Some interpersonal relationships between the competing girls, too That's actually quite a feat in my book. The only fighting scenes skipped so far were beating up a couple of thugs in the first chapter (skippable) and the whole Kuzuhara subplot from volume 3 (pointless and with no impact on the main story). No, what's really missing SO FAR and will probably be entered later is the dark background plot about the moderators and the point in this fighting. Especially the aspect what happens to the defeated Kämpfer. But I'm sure we'll get to that in time, in the middle of the show. If anything, I'd have loved to see Kämpfer animated by J.C.Staff - the manga art is exceptionally beautiful, and the show would certainly win alot if more budget would be thrown at it |

1 and 3 are pretty much the only reason I find this show entertaining. Fighting? Well as long as it is over the gender-confused Natsuru, it has my undivided attention. "Meh" is a standard reply for any other reason. Speaking of figting, looking forward to the potential brutal blood bath that is about to be undertaken in Miss-Con. Oh joy!
Today is thursday, isn't it?

This adaptation is like the R+V adaptation-Your mileage may vary.
Though, i would say the Kuzuhara subplot is still relevant. It reminded Akane and Natsuru they were in a Battle Royale and that they were weak,so they had to wisen up to the situation they were. Not to mention it hinted a bad end towards the losers of the war and the people behind it.

True, but none of this was in any way related to Kuzuhara. It's rather that Shizuku decided to give Natsuru/Akane some additional informations about the background story, and THAT could easily be done at some other point. It doesn't require Kuzuhara at all, it doesn't even concern her.
I bet that we'll get there when the tone of the show grows darker. Probably past the middle point. (And come to think of it, let's stop this discussion here - it's actually Manga knowledge which doesn't belong here, even though it seems evident that the anime is just going to omit it completely) |

Hmm this is a case of a trope in a battle royale- a sort of antagonistic character meant as fodder to teach the protagonist the danger of the battle royale they were in.No better experience than a practical one right?
This trope has been executed alot of times, but its still necessary in the end to let the protagonist wisen up and get in gear.

So, I hope that it isn't too long before we get back to the fighting action, at least. I have to say, though, that Kampfer may be the underrated anime of the year. Sure, it's not "high art", but there is some genuine cleverness and witty comedy in this anime. And the characters are largely likable, which is a big plus.
