So far, in the series, EVERY time a female character has fought a male character, the female has lost. At this point, the phenomenon has gone beyond mere coincidence, as the plot seems to bend over backwards to make them lose. Examples:

Hinata has one of the most powerful bloodlines of the village. However, her only fight is against someone who has the same bloodline and can use it better.

Jounins are supposed to be masses of pure ass-kicking. However, the two female jounins we see get put against people like Orochimaru and Itachi, so of course they get their asses kicked.

Sakura . . . well . . . is Sakura.

Now Tsunade is one of the Sennin, and should kick ass by every right. Of course, she has some mysterious phobia which causes her to lose to Kabuto, and which dissapears as soon as its purpose it served.

So now, the question is, will a female character ever win, or will Naruto continue to set back the femenist movement?

You're wrong. Shikamaru lost to Temari (not in the way you'd expect, but it's still a defeat).

And you can consider Oro loosing to Tsunade also. She delivered the hit that made him run off.

Actually, it was Tsunade AND Jiraya vs. Orochimaru without any arms, hardly a fair fight. Even then, you'll notice that it was Tsunade's slug that was defeated first.

The Shikamaru fight is debatable, though it was obvious that Tenmari was outclassed.

Well, after seeing the kind of training given to female ninjas(flower arrangement lessons for future covert ops... right) it's not surprising they keep losing fights.

anyway, yeah now that you mention it, does seem strange...

although, we didn't actually see any scenes, but Kurenai was part of the jounin group left standing after the fights in the chuunin tourny arena Vs the sound and sand nin.

Also the Female ANBU probably kicked some arse too.

We just don't see it.

To be honest, it was a blood phobic Tsunade and a drugged Jiraya vs Orochimaru AND a blood dripping Kabuto (who as far as we know, is at MINIMUM on par with kakashi's powerlevel, as far as his potential goes...he could very well be above all three since he is so damn mysterious)

Tsunade OWNED Oro AND Mande. She got stabbed, sliced, kicked, punched... and at the end she was still standing firm. Then one punch from her makes Oro run like a little girl screaming back to where he came from.
Jiraya on the other hand got owned by Oro, i dont think he even landed one decent attack on Oro, but he has the excuse that he was drugged.

Tsunade also beat Naruto with 1 finger.

Temari won against Shikamaru even though he made a fool out of her (he still ran out of chakra at the end, and what was coming was a can of whoop a$$ on him)

You could say Ino beat the woman from the sound team while on the first stage of the Chunnin exam.

Tsunade beats Naruto twice.

Plus, Orochimaru talks about her killing off anyone who knew she was a medical ninja.

Also. Naruto gets pounded by the women he has Konohamaru try and sexy no jutsu, and a bunch of female Narutos beat Ebisu.

What are you talking about? Sakura beats up Naruto all the time... considering the show is about him, who has enourmous chakra due to the Kyubi, he still gets his ass handed back to him every time by Sakura as you say is well... Sakura.

If I seem to remember correctly, Mande defeated Tsunade's slug handily, and Tsunade only maneged to pin Mande using Gama Bunta's sword. Without Jiraiya, it would not have gone well for her. Besides, Kabuto wasn't exactly in the best shape at that time.

And what kind of a ninja fears BLOOD?? You tend to see a fair amount of that in battle. Hell, what kind of healer fears blood?

Shikamaru technically could have forced a draw (both sides stab themselves for a double KO), but he didn't feel like it.

She wasn't always afraid of blood, she got the phobia after losing a lot of important people to her.

Oro didn't exactly summon Mande either, it was Kabuto who summoned him for Oro. Still, she and not gambuta, beat Mande, and then proceded to beat Oro.

Never mentioned Kabuto was beaten by Tsunade. But Kabuto couldn't manage to defeat Tsunade either. She also disabled him quite a bit, yet it was Naruto who defeated him. In any case, the only person to blame for his loss of blood is himself, he cut his arm on purpose to use the blood phobia against Tsunade.

You would be surprised how many rl doctors can't see blood

In any case, it wasn't always like this, and she surpassed it at the end of the fight. That is why she won.

Shikamaru might be a lazy bastard, but I doubt he would stab himself for the sake of winning a fight with no meaning
