Subs out. Is this going to be moved to the fansubbed section?

Looks like we're off to a good start on this series. Definitely one to keep an eye out for.

Really? I checked shinsen's site but didn't see anything yet. Am I mistaken?

I must thank AoShen for picking this up. They did a great job with Birdy DECODE, and shall be seeing the same quick release here.

Watching the first episode, and i fell in love with it all over again. Kaoru Wada's score captures the loneliness aspect of the series so perfectly.

Just saw the subbed episode. The AoShen one. It didn't have the OP and ED though, so I'm downloading the other sub too xD

As I understand more of the episode, I think there had been cheesy stuff x_x but I find them sweet Lotsa angst, but not angst enough to make me annoyed.

I really enjoyed this episode. I really look forward to the next episode *_*

This is a rather interesting series. Love the OP and ED. Nice animation and very retro style. The atmosphere is pretty dark too, and when Casshern pulls out the robot's wires...it was scary. Overall, pretty good impression for a first episode. Will definitely follow this series.

Does anyone else think Casshern sounds really awkward when pronounced in Japanese? Especially by Toru Fuhruya, Casshern himself.

How many episodes for this series?

This series is sweet. The visuals are stuning which is really big plus with all the disapointment floating around these days in that department. The story telling, plot and designs are so old school, and I'm freakin' loving it. Really good start, hope it keeps it up.

Might explain why the original series was titled "Casshan" in North America way back when. And they kept that for the 90s OVA series too, when it was licensed.

Oh crap. I'm waiting for Tales the of Abyss to pop up and ended up picking this and boy am I glad. Never knew about Casshern before but I really like this. It defines the lone hero cliche but in a good way. Clearly reminds me of the 80s with the likes of Voltron, classic. Not only that but the music also help building up the mood.

Props to Madhouse for bringing a classic. Basically you've garner a new fan.

EDIT: lol oh yeah about the VA, Casshern sounds like, Amuro from MS Gundam, Toppi from World Destruction and Ribbon from Gundam 00. I'm guessing its the same VA? lol lol a classic series with a classic VA.

Nice to see Furuya still up and about, same with Utsumi. I hear Casshern is to be in an upcoming Tatsunoko vs. Capcom game (that should be interesting).

ONe thing that helped with the show is that I deliberately avoided reading up too much about Casshern before, for me it really helps take the show for it's own merits. I did a bit more research but not too much, I hear this reboot will be somewhat different from the original 70s show in terms of basic setup. Has anyone seen the 90s OVA?

The 90's OVA (Robot Hunter) was the same story as the original series, just compressed and slightly updated. SINS is a real reboot with a lot of the initial story elements changed.

That was surprisingly good considering that I expected myself dropping this after one episode. But the visual component was impressive and did well in setting the dark mood. Still, I will drop this more likely than not once the novelty wears off and the old school corniness sets in. 20-30 percent finishing probability.

Pretty interesting first episode. The animation was good. The tone was very creepy but in a good way.

Seems like a series I'll pick up for the season.

Being a Seiya fan, I had to watch this. I'm glad that Shigeyasu Yamauchi is still directing new series, he makes awesome stuff. ^^

It's already been mentioned, though they've changed the story around quite a bit from the original, though this new story goes perfectly along side the dark/lonly feel to setting. It's a very good idea if you ask me.

Well the first episode was really good. Going into it pretty clean with no knowledge of the other stuff. So at the same time still trying to piece together everything that is going on here. But the world has definitely seen better days .
