And using flour explosions as a battle tactic would be overkill even for Goblin Slayer.

It is very impractical to implement anyways; he would need to carry a large volume of flour, it can only be used in enclosures, he would require an additional sparker to trigger it and it would also cost a protection spell...assuming he is always in a small party.

As for ice cream shenanigans, if he eventually goes there, I would expect him to maybe craft shrapnel shells and fire them off with the help of his ever-useful party mages.

I do have some minor problems with the cut in this episode from book, the riddles, the lancer dialogues, and the battle of the giant eyeball, on top of it they insert a cow girl part that is new, extra, and unnecessary since it is redundant and inconsequential, if they make the battle with the giant eyeball this short I would rather they left it at the beginning of episode 9, oh well, c'est la vie, anime only viewers won’t know what they missed and won’t matter over all.

another is when SM showing her thigh, the anime did not clearly show the scars, which is the purpose of camera pointing to that in the first place, matching her words do you know what goblins done to her. neither is the eyes of SM showing any scars or damages, I guess they really tones it down after episode 1.

watching some of the youtube reactions, funny not a single one of them got the reference what is in my pocket is from Bilbo, and GS’s Uniqlo T shirt (that!) is what Shirou from Fate wears.

Those 2 changes actually make sense if the skipped arc is actually put at the end. The original dialogue for lancer doesn't make any sense with the current order of arcs. They could have adapted properly the eyeball fight if it wasn't for that scene with cow girl, but I'd argue it fits with his dialogue with Priestess and whatever is left afterwards. In fact, that fight, as intense as it should be, isn't really that important in the grand scheme of things.

They actually focused on her arm and the scars were visible. And no, Sword Maiden eyes are blatantly shown as dim with the iris barely visible. This was just before she says she can see blurry shapes, so it doesn't really need much to connect the dots.

same way how he learned water cutter and explosion.

some methods become viable because he has allies.
like how he could burn down a goblin infested fortress because priestess has protection to prevent them from escaping.

If protection can last longer, he might even collapse the dungeon ceiling over them and bury the goblins. unfortunately it doesn't last long enough and isn't wide enough.

Honestly speaking, the story of SM's rape, her recuperation and her rise to become one of the party who slayed a demon king/lord should be one helluva interesting story on its own. The raped fighter girl in the first episode could've been given the similar treatment or at least close to it. And I remember a bunch of source readers dismissed me for it.

That said, this episode is quite good for me precisely because it focuses more on the most interesting character in this series so far which is GS. Also the bit about SM is good too.

SM was raped after killing the Demon King. She made a single mistake and ended up like that. And look and behold, she's gone off to the temple to recover and find something besides adventuring to do.

So the question this should be asking you is why someone that powerful needs GS of all people to kill goblins for her. Kinda seems like the rape had lasting and extremely damaging effects on her psyche that prevent her from engaging them directly.

For myself, the only problem i have is the fact that GS got unmasked with the priestess sleeping on the same bed during this episode. It made sense in Vol. 2, but now it won't if we go back to Vol. 1 again...

I'll answer the bolded part since that's pretty much the point of your whole comment. The answer is Yes. It's only partially fulfilled. I already said as much in my previous post that I'm not quite satisfied from a narrative standpoint:

That happened BEFORE she joined a party that faught the last demon lord. She was able to recover somewhat and get back out there adventuring. She then retired at the temple.

Granted yes she is still damaged because of her experience with goblins but she can still function day to day. It's the nightmares that keep her from fully moving forward. This is the reason she's attracted to Goblin Slayer she feels safe around him.

They never really explained how she managed escape the goblins whether or not she was rescued or did it on her own is debatable. However she really is blind as it was the goblins who burned her eyes then one of the Gods that granted her sight beyond sight as reward for her faith which allowed her continue adventuring.

Sword Maiden is partially blind in a physical way: The goblins tortured her and used a torch to burn her eyes, permanently damaging the cornea of her eyes. There is no explanation how she escaped, but it isn't really hard to imagine a party rescued her, just like what happened to Fighter.

Her misfortune pretty much happened during her early days as an adventurer when she was ambushed by goblins. It is heavily implied she was a porcelain adventurer at that time. Even then, she still worked as an adventurer and went from Porcelain to Gold before joining the party which vainquished the demon lord 10 years prior the present events of GS. She was basically promoted 8 times within approximately a year. When you consider that Priestess needed so many goblin quests and that ogre fight for just her Obsidian rank promotion, you can tell Sword Maiden isn't a gold rank for nothing.
