So Blizzard is giving out beta access for $40 with the Founder's Pack.

Quick question, is HotS going to be f2p like Dota2 and LoL?

Also, is it going to follow LoL's model of a random pool of weekly free heroes and if you want to have a hero permanently you have to pay for it with real/in-game currency?

I see, that's a shame, was looking to try out HotS but I was never really a fan of the LoL method of making heroes permanently available to you.

Well they have to make money somehow. I do wish they'd standardise the gold cost for heroes though. I think HotS hero rotation is bigger than other games, it's just that you have to unlock the extra slots. I'm not 100% sure though since i don't pay the rotation that much attention and have the Heroes I like to play just flat-out purchased.

Rotation is actually pretty small something like 6-7 heroes although I admit I have no idea how big the DotA 2 and LoL rotation is.

Getting my hands in Heroes right now. The rotation is 5 heroes, until you reach a certain character level to unlock 6 hero rotations. Then you reach another character level to get the max 7 hero rotation.

So its 7 heroes in total, but 5 at minimum.

Yeah I did a recount after I made that post, 5 is really low but I suppose it forces newcomers to just focus on a few heroes. I guess the best way is to level each hero to lvl 5 for the gold bonus.

Just got an email today saying I've got beta access. Would have been nice if it arrived earlier, but since I start school this week it's not happening. Is this transferable? Think it said they simply added it to my account, but in case it's possible and one of you want it...

To my knowledge no, Blizzard simply flags your account with beta access and calls it there. I believe linking your account in question will work? I bought my access so can't really say how this works with 100% assurance.

They used to send you a key, but yeah now-a-days they seem to just flag your account.

I never got an email but if the game appears on your battle.net account does that mean you can participate in the beta?

Usually yes, but I think anyone can see it now. Just prompts you to 'buy a founders pack.' I could be wrong though.

Before the founders pack that was the case. Since the founders pack though, Heroes of the Storm just pops on there to prompt you to buy the founders' pack. This was the case when I first noticed it without buying it.

Just tried the beta last night, man this game feels so weird and yet oddly relaxed in terms of pacing considering I came from playing dota 2.

I'm absolutely not used to skills having so little punch to them

Well it's more about setting up group fights and working as a team to take stuff down rather than one hit wonders carrying everyone else. although there are some that come close, but are generally avoidable in nature, except for Illidan and his global execute.

Arthas going frostmourne build can destroy carries very quickly. Double hunger + 150% damage boost was pretty nasty when I tried it.

just like to say that if there is anybody currently interested in joining the new MOBA from Blizz, but don't have access to it through an invite or understandably don't want to throw the $40 for it, I've come to say that I got 4 codes for access.

Due to the "Heroes of the Dorm" event going on, Blizzard is trying to push team play at the moment, and has given me 4 codes (along with anyone else who has access I assume).

Give me a PM if you want one while I still have them.

Seriously, got no use for them, and all my friends have it already. Just sayin'.
