All good stories need Flat and Static Characters... for the buildup and stuff

but, back to the point,
it's just odd for someone to post a character like that, I mean seriously, I haven't seen one that says they are just average. And since it is so foreign here it sort of makes the character seem weaker then it actually is. Plus, why not use a Euphemism, such as Normal, Normal doesn't give off a negative air, Average sorta sounds like: Oh he's just average... nothing big. Normal sounds like: Well he's like me!

1. Half-assed apology accepted.

2. Any regular character in Naruto would be considered a key character. The lack of "flat and static" characters is mainly due to there being too many in the story. The same problem goes with Bleach (no offense to Bleach fans), since the need to create a world with a ton of characters leaves very little room to expand on the ones that really matter. If Naruto had more one-shot characters instead of giving every ninja in the village a backstory, you'd have better character development.

3. I don't use euphemisms unless I'm being ironic. To me, there's really no difference between "normal" and "average", so I figured it wouldn't really have caused such a mistake in gauging my characters abilities.

Anyway, I'm done arguing about it, dicusssion officially over.

Fuuinjutsu

Name: Doku Houin (Poison Sealing Method)
Type: B-rank, Supplementary, Close range.
This sealing jutsu is an incredibly effective one, generally utilised by wartime battlefield surgeons in Negakure. A tag with the seal drawn on it is slap onto a portion of the body, while the medical-nin performs a single handseal to activate it. The poison in his or her patients body is drawn to the seal, where it is unable to spread via the bloodstream and is rendered useless. This can only be used as a temporary measure however as the potency of the seal wears off after a short time, two to three hours at most, giving the medical specialist enough time to get his or her patient proper treatment.

Name: Suji Haji Fuuin (Muscle Restriction Seal)
Type: A-rank, supplementary, Close range.
This is another sealing jutsu utilised by medics, but it can easily be used by a high-level jounin or a seasone fuuinjutsu user. By drawing a seal with the kanji 'restrict' on it, the user places it on his opponent, usually near the base of the neck. This sends a small electric shock, which isn't fatal, but disrupts the nervous system, paralysing the limbs. Cardiac muscles are unaffected by this fuuinjutsu.

Name: Hajitaku Fuuin (Holding House Seal)
Type: B-rank, supplementary, No range.
A branch of the Suji Haji fuuin, this jutsu is used for restriction, but it differs slightly in it's usage and application. Drawing a massive seal with the kanji for 'bind' and placing it on a floor or sealing, it renders whoever walks on it (when it's on the floor), or beneath it (when it's on the ceiling) totally immobile, unable to move even their eyes. Talented fuuinjutsu specialists have developed away to disable these seals, which is why they are generally brought along for infiltration missions. the Bouenkyou and the Negakure ANBU also use this jutsu for interrogation, placing the seal on a chair or above their criminal to prevent them from going anywhere. Abnormal ammounts of chakra have been known to break the seal, but this is almost entirely unheard of.

It took Itachi's parents 20 minutes before they realized that he was trapped in a genjutsu. They "broke" the genjutsu, and never allowed Denkou to return to their village. That is one reason he dislikes Sasuke and the Uchiha clan.

2 months after the incident, Denkou was depressed, and had not talked to his friends since the incident. He was afraid that he would hurt them. So his father decided to take him walking in the woods, when some stone ninja attacked. After a hard fight, Denkou's father was fataly injured. With his dieing breath he told Denkou to not be afraid of death. He said, "Fight until your last breath, but make the best of the time you have." Somewhere in the months after his father died, he decided that he would turn his life around. Every day, he tried to make friends with anyone he did not know in the village, and fixed his relationship with his old friends. He was not going to let his life tick away.

6 years after his father's death, Denkou was learning a new jutsu when the stone ninja that had fled the day his father died, was walking the path to Konoha. Denkou attacked him in a fit of rage, and almost killed him. As he was about to deliver the final blow, he realized that he did not want to do to this man's son, what was done to him. He let him go, reluctantly, and went back to training.

About 5 1/2 years later, Denkou was on a mission to retrieve some important documents. It was a C-Ranked mission, so he went with only Naroku. Then, as they were going back to the village, they were attacked by rogue ninja. After the battle was over, they interogated one of the men and found out that the documents were more important than believed. These documents had a code that would lead you to the location of a scroll that holds the world's most devasting jutsu. When they relayed this information to the Hokage, he put Denkou on a team that was put together to crack the code. To this day, he still has not figured it out.[SPOILER]

You know, I can think of at least 4 other people on who frequent this thread whose posts have almost always been completely original, or if not original, a great twist on something familiar. It took Itachi's parents 20 minutes before they realized that he was trapped in a genjutsu. They "broke" the genjutsu, and never allowed Denkou to return to their village. That is one reason he dislikes Sasuke and the Uchiha clan.

2 months after the incident, Denkou was depressed, and had not talked to his friends since the incident. He was afraid that he would hurt them. So his father decided to take him walking in the woods, when some stone ninja attacked. After a hard fight, Denkou's father was fataly injured. With his dieing breath he told Denkou to not be afraid of death. He said, "Fight until your last breath, but make the best of the time you have." Somewhere in the months after his father died, he decided that he would turn his life around. Every day, he tried to make friends with anyone he did not know in the village, and fixed his relationship with his old friends. He was not going to let his life tick away.

6 years after his father's death, Denkou was learning a new jutsu when the stone ninja that had fled the day his father died, was walking the path to Konoha. Denkou attacked him in a fit of rage, and almost killed him. As he was about to deliver the final blow, he realized that he did not want to do to this man's son, what was done to him. He let him go, reluctantly, and went back to training.

About 5 1/2 years later, Denkou was on a mission to retrieve some important documents. It was a C-Ranked mission, so he went with only Naroku. Then, as they were going back to the village, they were attacked by rogue ninja. After the battle was over, they interogated one of the men and found out that the documents were more important than believed. These documents had a code that would lead you to the location of a scroll that holds the world's most devasting jutsu. When they relayed this information to the Hokage, he put Denkou on a team that was put together to crack the code. To this day, he still has not figured it out.

Not bad but a bit usual. I'm sorry to say this but it's not very creative. It sounds like some of the newbie, OP posts. No offence but using jutsus like chidori?? Not to mention that isn't it said in the episodes that Kakashi only taught the chidori to Sasuke?? And smarter than Shika?? Come on not the best you've ever posted.

Like Keikan said, I'm unimpressed. The jutsu and Kekkei Genkai read like Sasuke. The pesonality had a good start, but needs to be developed. It does look like a newbie's first character. The history get's to me aswell. Itachi was already a Chuunin level ninja when Denkou argued with him. Any genjutsu placed on Itachi, especially by a four year old, would only be reflected back onto them. Also what is up with the devastating jutsu scroll? Wouldn't the Hokage get skilled fuuinjutsu users to decode, instead of someone who does missions at high genin/ low chuunin level?

It sounds harsh, but i've seen you do better man.

Hi all, I just wanted to make a brief announcement about my Naruto Raiu anthology. Well while I will no longer be posting it on here, it will be re-packed simply as "Raiu". (Needless to say it won't have any of the Naruto elements implemented into it.) It will be darker and deeper than the original prototype, and will have a more dramatic story to it. All of the characters from the original will be in the new concept, and Narutoverse terms such as: "Raikage" and "Jutsu" will be tweaked to adjust the new changes. Personality and Beliefs:
Saki was a kind and outgoing person. He believed that, if in death, if a person has not an exterior fatal wound on them, that they are blessed and shall be reborn. He does his best to give everyone a second chance through his jutsus. For him, if a person isn’t given a burial that includes their remains, they wander the Earth for eternity. Even though Saki is very devout in his beliefs, he still totally destroyed his body beyond any recognition in order to save his team. According to himself, he will wander the Earth forever.

The only difference is this one lasts a lot longer, it can last up to five hours and by then, the victims body is supposed to be used to moving with the disrupted nerves so all of a sudden going back to normal could be a bit difficult.
Advantages/Disadvantages: If not timed correctly, could disrupt the user’s nerves.

Brief Life Story:
Saki led a fairly normal life. He was middle of his class at the Academy. He graduated to Genin at age 13 and obtained Chunin at age 19. At 23 he was chosen for a Special Jounin try-out that lasted for a year before he knew if he became a Special Jounin or not. He went on mission with a Special Jounin squad. One day, an urgent summons came from the Hokage to Saki’s team, they were being sent on an S-Class assassination and retrieval mission. They were to kill a bandit lord on the Wind country border and bring back a Chunin that the bandit had captured and bring him back to Konoha, as well as the scroll that that shinobi had, but they weren’t told about the scroll. When they arrived at the bandit camp, they found out that the bandit lord had hired some shinobi from Iwagakure. The team snuck into the camp and killed the bandit lord before the Iwa-nin even knew they were there. They then proceeded to blast their way through the camp to the Chunin. They managed to make it out of the camp only incurring some scrapes and bruises. Travelling with the Chunin slowed them dramatically, giving the Iwa-nin time to catch up. Seeing this Saki, stopped and turned around to face the shinobi following them. When the others stopped, he told them to go on. The Chunin didn’t even slow down. The rest of Saki’s team went on. There were ten Iwa-nin pursuing. Only one stopped for Saki, to kill him but Saki had charged up a strong Raikou haji and palmed the shinobi directly over the shinobi’s heart, killing the shinobi instantly. He then turned and sent a barrage of Raikou toge at the remaining nine Iwa-nin. One was struck in the spine, dead. Three were struck in the upper back or shoulder region, they continued on. The remaining five however were struck below the waist, so they couldn’t continue. Those shinobi told the other three to go on through the radios, when suddenly a bolt of lightning streaked past them killing the middle shinobi of the three in front. The bolt was so strong that it made the inside of the shinobi’s mouth and his eyes glow (if you’ve ever seen it Zatch Bell when he fired his lightning) and sent the shinobi flying over Saki’s team’s heads. The rest of the five Iwa-nin that remained to fight Saki turned around and had to quickly dodge multiple Raikou toge. The closest on to Saki couldn’t dodge in time and was hit in the sternum, pretty well dead. Three of the four threw kunai and shuriken at Saki while the final one went close range. The Iwa-nin certainly weren’t ready for when their kunai and shuriken were partially deflected away. The shinobi that went close range was hit by some kunai and shuriken that had been forced from their original flight path, dead. Now only three shinobi remained to fight Saki. During all of this Saki kept reporting through his head-set. The Iwa-nin figured out their kunai and shuriken wouldn’t work so they threw out a few jutsu. Saki soon found himself dodging all matter of earth, rock or mud attacks. He jumped and sent a multitude of lightning spines at the shinobi, but only one made contact, the rest hit an earth wall that was not there a second before. The one that made contact shaved along the side of the nin. By this time, Saki was running low on chakra and couldn’t last much longer. He decided that he would give the Iwa-nin something to remember him by as his last gift. He spoke a few words into his mike, “I’ll see you later guys. Please kill those two sons-of-a-b****es that are following you for me.” With that he dropped his magnetic shield and started concentrating all his remaining chakra into his navel while dropping down. Just as he landed, the last of his chakra reached his navel. Once the chakra was concentrated there, Saki manipulated the chakra into lightning chakra. At that, he said one word, “Boom,” and realised all of the chakra, making it radiate out of his body. Saki’s body was totally incinerated along with the Iwa-nin, no amount of earth could save them. Saki’s team heard his declaration and turned around to see a flash of lightning a long way away. They quickly knocked out the Iwa-nin and carried them back for questioning. When another retrieval squad was sent out for Saki, all they found was a patch of lightning burnt forest and some charred bones.

That actually isn't the exact moment he died, I just drew this first then made the character and chose to make Saki kill himself and his opponents in a last ditch effort. I totally forgot that I drew it so he died like in the drawing and forgot to add that bit of the fight into his life story, meh.

Bio: The self proclaimed God of Storms, Denka is an upstart lightning jutsu user from Negakure. Born into the relatively unknown Izakuchi clan, Denka recieved the clan's kekkei genkai which brought him unprecedented powers with electricity. Whlie this kekkei genkai didn't develop until his early teens, Denka was already a promising ninja. One of the top students in the Academy, he mastered the ninja arts with relative ease, and graduated with honors. With a natual affinity for wind and electric jutsu, Denka was eventually taught the trademark Izakuchi jutsus, and his skills grew.
However, while he mastered jutsu easily, Denka soon found out that performing jutsu under pressure was more daunting than he thought, and was nearly killed numerous times while on missions. His difficulty in combat led to losing numerous teammates, which soon led to a stigma against him. Seen as bad luck, Denka was shunned by his friends and comrades, and left to fend for himself on missions. It was then that his kekkei genkai developed, and allowed him to become a strong ninja. As his abilities grew, so did his confidence in battle, and now he has little trouble with combat, having become a formidable fighter.
Outside of battle, Denka remains seclusive. The few years of being an outcast among his friends had a long lasting effect, and he finds it hard to trust them at times. The older ninja and villagers see him in a better light, and have always been supportive. In particular, Denka has become good friends with fellow ninja, Kazeashi Yokoi.

Kekkei Genkai: Denka's kekkei genkai, Chidenki, is a trait that turns the human body into a walking power plant of sorts. Chidenki is always active after it first appears in the subject. Chidenki's power comes from static electricity generated by friction from internal functions within the body. With many objects, static electricity is created from friction and movement, and the same principle is applied to the human body, namely the friction of blood cells against vein and artery walls. The constant friction of moving blood, as well as friction from moving muscles creates a steady electric charge within the body, which can average to millions of volts. After enough training, the Chidenki user can learn to wield the electricity at will, and turn into a devastating means of attack. Using the electricity on it's own is beneficial because the electricity isn't chakra related, and doesn't require handsigns to use for simple techniques.

Custom Jutsu:

Olympus Charge: During thunderstorms, Denka can emit electricity from his body to attract lightning. If lightning strikes him, the lightning adds it's charge to the power Denki already has, instantly upping his power supply.

Kuwabara Kuwabara: Another thunderstorm technique. This take on the Olympus Charge comes from Denka using his electricity to control the storm's lightning to a degree, and command it to strike his enemies. The name comes from the old Japanese chant to ward off lightning.

Chidenki Flash: One of the Izakuchi Clan's secret jutsu. Using the charge from the Chidenki, the user can convery their body into pure electricity, and travel at the speed of light. The jutsu is extrelemy dangerous and physically taxing on the body, and is generally used as a means of retreat, since recombining into the physical form takes a long while.

Nail Strike: Combining chakra and electricity, Denka can take any piece of metal, tear it to pieces, and creates a cloud of bits of metal and shrapnel, which floats around the caster. The jutsu is done solely by the electricity, as the hands are occupied with maintaining the special handsign to keep the jutsu in effect. The shrapnel cloud is often concentrated and shot at an enemy, creating a wide cone of destruction, like a giant shotgun blast.

Thunder Boomerang: Another Izakuchi jutsu. After performing handsigns, Denka creates a large V shaped mass of pure chakra and electricity, and throws it at a target. The "boomerang" is completely under Denka's control, following a path drawn out with his finger in the air. The electricity keeps it's charge until it makes contact with an object, and loses a portion. If need be, Denka can detonate the boomerang at will, creating an electric explosion.

Pulse Shield: Requiring no handsigns, the pulse shield is a wave of electric energy released from Denka's body at will. The strength depends on the size and charge. Larger shields will deflect thrown weapons and dull the shock from explosive tags to an extent, while smaller, concentrated shields can incinerate whatever makes contact with them. The shields tend to drain a lot of energy, so Denka usually limits them to short bursts, just enough to protect him from an immediate attack.

Thunderpunch Combo - Denka's special taijutsu technique. The jutsu begins with a supercharged uppercut to get the target airborne. Once in the air, Denka pushes them further upward with bolts of lightning from his hands. He then jumps above his enemy, flip-kicks them back to the ground, and finishes with a high powered lightining blast.

I am sorry about that, I was being a little unclear, I realize that after reading it. I had only meant that as a holding place for the leader of the village. The village wanted to be as great as Konoha, but it new that it couldn't have an "official" Kage. So they made a "fake" Kage position to hold the place of their leader. They also new that no one would try to stop them from it because of their knowledge of the mountains, and the fact that their shinobi system grants them great military and strategic ability. Plus, not many ninja know of this village.

Kekkei-Genkai/Special traits: Lava Style/Release - this allows Sake to mix fire and earth chakra types in his body, giving him access to lava type chakra.
Also has fire-sealing tattoos on his body, allowing him to seal away opponents attacks, or his own for later realease when he has no chakra.
Being a clone, and having a custom kekkei-genkai, Sake's body is actually part lava, meaning he can morph body parts into lava for small periods of time.

Clothes: Wears black with red trim and belt Khezu armour from top to waist (with hood, sleeves are long, and top has front tail - again from MHF2); cream trousers tucked into weighted ankle bangles; ninja sandal like Jiraiya's....wears cloak/rag to cover his clothes; in serious battles however, Sake removes his top entirely.

Ansatsuken (exclusive taijutsu taught @ Root+, see history, using chkra point contraction to make muscles reach inhuman speeds - refinement of 8 Gates fundamentals, using points instead)

Astrocomet Punch (releasing fire from seals and fire chakra from chakra points, Sake's hand becomes extremely hot. He then proceeds to punch his opponent.

Seismic Combo:
Sake distaracts foe using kunai/shuriken/holds them using a clone, then uses his Phoenix palm to grab the opponent, scorching them in the process.
He then pulls them towards him, and kicks them away and into the air with a left roundhouse kick.Sake then judges their flight, and shoots multiple Burst Shots to make a cloud where his opponent will fall. When they fall through this cloud, Sake detonates them, further damaging the enemy.
Finally, Sake propels himself into the air using his the Phoenix Palm technique, and hits his opponent multiple times with Astrocomet Punch, then lands a final punch which connects as the opponent hits the floor, resulting in a crator being formed.

Chakra control techniques:
Fire Seal - absorption (Sake absorbs fire(attacks) through his palms/chest/back
Fire Seal - release (Sake releases stored fire(attacks) through his palms/chest/back
Phoenix Palm (Sake releases fire chakra from the chakra points in his arm, and fire from his palm tattoo, making a fiery talon, like Nightmare's,Soul Calibur 4)

Inner Sun technique (culmination of all fire from tattoos, and all fire chakra from points. Sake becomes engulfed in fire, and reaches up to 2000 celsius, devastating all within a 10metre radius. Leaves Sake virtually unconscious, and unable to fight for a day or so.

Katon: Burst Shot (fire chakra shot from fingers rapidly using chakra point contraction - can explode on contact, or have a time delay before explosion, as is used in Seismic Combo)

Katon: Grand Fireball jutsu

Katon: Sinister Guise (similar to grand fireball, but Sake takes his mask of and a fiery demonic face comes out - oil on face is required)

Lava Style: Molten Flood (Sake makes a hole in the ground, then a torrent of lava comes out, covering the area wanted, more area=more chakra - is similar to 4ths moving land river technique)

Lava Style: Molten Fountain (At a finger flick, a spout of lava comes out of the ground, usually used near opponent to cause burns, or jockey them into a certain position)

Lava Style: Lava Clone (Similar to normal clones, but this clone can return to its base element - lava - for small periods of time, making it harder to destroy.

Lava Style: Volcanic Dragon Missile (used after Molten Flood. Lava on Ground forms into a vaguely-shaped dragon's mouth;this fires a ball of white-hot chakra at his opponent. Consumes vast amounts of chakra, but look cool...)
