It's a new season of anime and that means a new Otome Game Villainess series! Except this time she's not a Villainess and this is a novel brought to life instead of an Otome game. But dang is it beautiful
!
The Opening hits pretty hard with MindRayn and all the intrigue and drama in this novel that Raeliana has to wrestle with if she wants to survive, as well as her romance with Noah, and we even get to see Raeliana with a gun in what looks like a ripped wedding dress. I can only imagine how that happens
.
I'm glad Yume Miyamoto recovered enough to play a lead role like this. She makes Rinko/Raeliana feel very real
.
Poor Rinko. She finally got accepted into college, and then she gets straight up murdered (she even thinks of her family in her last moments). It seems like she knew the person that pushed her, but can't seem to properly recall or remember them or why she knew them. And then it seemed like the killer was digitizing as she was falling. Is this connected to the book somehow
?
Well, as far as reincarnating go, I'd say Rinko came out pretty well. She's now rich, beautiful, and has a loving family. And she's a natural at playing the part of a proper noble girl. The only problem is she's read the novel her character is in...and Raeliana's role in the story is to get murdered to set off the plot for the real protagonists. Not that she's about to let herself die again
.
I'm surprised this setting had a "how to cleanly break up with your boyfriend" book, not that being a terrible girlfriend gets Raeliana out of a loveless engagement she knows ends with her fiancé killing her. At least it confirms she knows how to shoot a gun, and I imagine she was probably very tempted to shoot Francis
.
Although as much of a dick as Francis is, it seems like he's working for someone who wants him to get in with Raeliana's family. So someone is pulling strings
.
If I had a nickel for every time a reincarnated noble lady had to go to Yuichiro Umehara's dashing dark-haired noble guy...I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's strange it's happened twice. Although Noah feels more like the opposite of Claude, putting on a sweet and pleasant demeanor but being far more cunning and manipulative than he appears at first glance, and Raeliana knows his true character and knows she needs his pull if she's going to get out of this alive
.
I'm kind of curious about Noah's deal. He's first in line for the throne but lost his chance only to get it back again? How'd that happen? And it's ironic that Raeliana has to dangle the royal seal in front of him to get him to help her when Noah apparently needs it to impose upon the nouveau riche that Raeliana's family is a part of
.
Obviously Raeliana and Noah are starting off in a transactional relationship to each others' benefit and keeping each other on their toes, but it seems they will blossom into a true romance. But if Noah is meant to fall for the true Heroine of the novels, how complicated will it get when she shows up and Raeliana is not dead and close to Noah
?
The ED is pretty nice with the beautiful shots of Raeliana and ending on her with the book amidst flowers as she looks upon who I presume is Noah
.
