Is this a contradiction I see? If she didn't help him at all I don't know where those recordings came from. He probably threatened her into doing them I guess. You can't claim she didn't try to help him and abandoned him instead. The way I see it she did try to help him, but things went way out of control.

while i wouldnt go as far as calling her a bitch (far from it)
one cant ignore the fact that some of her actions have been very wrong
and ironiclly it seems that she's very much like lelouch in that respecet
once lelouch lost his will to live and started acting with a deathwish in mind he started doing things that he would never have done before becouse he didnt care anymore (eps 20-25 show him at his absolute worst in terms of morality)
C.C has had a death wish for hundreds of years so its logical that she'd be in the same "dont really care about anything anymore" mindframe
its only after lelouch shows her that she still has something to live for that she seems to change to some degree (her fight with kallen, how she was happy to find that she still cares about winning or losing, or crying for lelouch)
but before that point she was really genuinely amoral
not imoral but amoral

I won't get inside Mao's issue, since I've never really gave a fuck about him and yes, it could be that C.C. is a bitch, but that's your moral judgement on her, not a FACT.

the unicity of her life experience put C.C. somehow out of the normal standards of humanity. This is a fact. A fact that could (not must, could) lead people to say "ehi she's not that bitch in the end, given what she's gone through"

Honestly, baring the responisbility for what happened to Mao is not casting blame. C.C raised Mao from a child, and went as far as to give him her curse. Regardless of the choices Mao has made, C.C has some responsiblity. While Mao should have perhaps looked into what Geass was before accepting a contract, but he admired C.C and trusted her. He had part of the responsibility in that he did not check the fine print and it was his choices that lead him to where he was, but at the same time C.C also has responsibility because she did not let him know the curse that power represented and should have taught him better rather then up and abbandoning him.

The scary thing was it showed you how much he actually held back when using his geass. It would have been so easy for him if he hadn't let his morals get in the way. He could shit spammed the geass enslaving anyone who was potentially useful including Suzaku, Kallen, the OotBK or the entire Britannian army in Area 11.

Chances are it would've been a much smoother ride for Lelouch overall.

I wouldn't say he lost his morals at that point, otherwise he wouldn't have saved Kallen and kept her out of the Requiem AND he wouldn't have decided to give humanity a future in the first place, even if he did in the world's douch-iest way.

he didnt lose his caring for those he loves
but he lost any moral problems he had about what to do in order to achive his goals

The point was, I think, that he did it in the end. Maybe he would have avoided many problems and tragic situations by doing it from the beginning.

Dear all, here is the long awaited scans of the character polls from the magazines. Since Newtype ranking is already posted a few posts before, I will post the other two (Animage and Animedia) .

Generally, the characters are losing votes due to the rise of Gundam 00 except Lelouch who is holding on to his throne. It's just a matter of time before Lelouch is taken down most likely by any of the Gundam Meisters (I hope it won't be that fast despite the popularity of Gundam 00 ). Please hang in there, our favourite characters . Reality is harsh .
