I know Ritsuko's version is exaggerated, but I always thought that Wendy's was the inspiration.

Anyway I know that Wakabayashi-san has to put in wires in her hair during the lives to replicate the same curve hairstyle.

While the introduction of all the foreshadowing in the recent episodes is somewhat jarring (even for this self-confessed Chihaya fan), I think it's somehow better this way than for the show to suddenly pull a "OMG angsty past out of nowhere!".

Out of all the idols in the franchise, Chihaya most definitely has the most tragic past - none of the other idols have to deal with their careers in the context of death afterall (the only other one is Awakened Miki, which was more a close brush with death). I think they just want to foreshadow what the big deal is so that they when they finally do break in the second Chihaya focus episode, that they can say they've laid down the foundation for it, instead of having the perception that this mostly light-hearted show known as The Idolm@ster suddenly turned "dark" without reason or something.

Btw, regarding Chihaya story, well it is nice to build up some drama, but if they dragged it for, let's say, 5 episodes, i think they are missing their momentum here.
