You, now that I think about it, KotE has a pretty sad life as a Heretic God, especially from our point of view. Let's see here:
_ he's forced to to fight and slay Campione for all eternity; even when he lost he still revives and repeats the cycle _ he is not even allowed to retire to the Astral Realm like Susanoo despite being way to weary of battle *remember Heretic Gods just do whatever the hell the want on Earth before getting slain (by Campione) or bored and leave for the Astral Realm * _ his wife was killed and now her reincarnation wishes for his defeat (ouch ) _ his blood brother went insane, and said brother killed KotE's wife _ his maidservant Guinevere is also dead _ the newly recruited Pallas Athena never followed him, she went and stuck a needle inside him causing his latest loss _ his former follower Lancelot changed her allegiance and now she is following the young Devil King as his new Authority Then again, we never knew why Gwenhwyfar followed KotE in the first place, was it because of love, affection or admiration for the virtuous Steel God? The scene where Godou *almost* seduced Guinevere is more and more awkward the more I think about it Lancelot only tagged along because battles would ensue whenever Rama went. And the sad thing is they were never real friends, Lancelot didn't get to know his name or whatsoever

Lancelot didn't really care about his name. Lancelot and Gwenhwyfar were friends as well. Also a reason Lancelot switched sides was to end KotE's fate. (End the cycle so he can finally rest and find his own salvation)
It was indicated Gwenhwyfar fell in love with KotE. Then she used her life and magic to create the holy grail. Besides she revives after a certain amount of time. As for the reason she did this is to 1. lesson his travels while destroying less of the world & lesson his sorrow. 2. So he doesn't need to look for goddesses to kill. 3. To get this hardship ( which he is fated to do) over with all the sooner. In short all for him to be less unhappy. xD

I think something that Campione does fairly well is go beyond the usual black-light standards and reach a more "mythological" morality.
With some exceptions, most heretic gods only fault is being, well, heretic gods. They do have a tendency to ignore the pesky mortals in their battles, but again, so do the Campiones. It's less that they are evil and more that they are fated, by the inherent meaning of their own existence, to clash with God-slayers. If the KotE and other gods had been the first character introduced we could easily have had the series going about him defeating all the other Campiones. |

It seems is just the 4 ladies and a bit of Athena here and there.
I wonder if any of the girls has actually lezed out, during well the cerimonies? At least tasted each other saliva from taking turns with Godou |
