Do you mean the delays which made it release so late and at the time that PSP is dying, thus no chance of getting a localization? Though Nasu did go overboard in the story department as well. The punishment scenes after the boss battles were something else.

No, I meant that as a game all the sub-events that lead up to the story (with the exploration of the Sakura Labyrinth) are essentially padding. Which works in a VN, but not in a RPG. Too many times you're tossed back and forth in the Labyrinth where almost nothing happens. Add to that the subpar battle system from the original (and, I have my doubts about the Punish mechanic as well) and you get the point.
As a personal opinion, several "serious" moments in CCC are at best unintentional comedy (I know Nasu made a big deal about sexuality in this game, but most of the time simply it doesn't work as intended) and at worst groan-inducing moments (almost every time BB appears on the screen). I wonder if sometimes Nasu chose the odd scenario just for the sake of being odd. Extella has, at least for now, a more "dry" approach in style, which reminds me more of EXTRA and works better, IMO. |

Fate Extella has a sequel and its called Fate/Extella Link.
A new Saber will be Charlemagne uses a Noble Phantasm roughly translated to “Joyeuse Ordre: Show Us The Hero! Twelve Radiant Swords That Travel the Wide World.” Hopefully some of the 12 paladins. Astolfo most likely Quote:
Spoiler for Saber Charlemagne:
And yes Hakuno is still the protagonist. Based on the new outfit it makes me wonder if this will connect to CCC and setting will have Seraph and the real world. Spoiler for New Hakuno Outfit:

Charlemagne is a bishounen. If he's in it, you can bet Astolfo will be as well in some capacity.
I'm cautiously looking forward to it. Extella had a lot of playable servants and that was great, the problem was that you only had 7 or so tiny stages to play in. Replaying the same stages over and over again got old real fast. It felt super cheap as a game.

His actions are based on whether it is cool or tacky. Even if his actions might cause him or his Master to be disadvantaged. So now I can understand why Astolfo keeps calling him an idiot. Well since Astolfo is a trap and Roland is a stripper, it's not surprising that Charlemagne is also a weirdo. I'm scared on what the other paladins are like. "The twelve perverted paladins led by the baka king"

Certainly no surprise to see Astolfo join the cast with Charlemagne being there. I'm curious (outside of FGO popularity) why Scathach will be involved in terms of the story.
Regardless should be interesting to see who else joins the cast this time around.

Maybe the explanation is rather simple. The Moon Cell Automaton is incredibly powerful, even by Holy Grail standards. Alternately, since the Throne of Heroes is kind of a timeless thing, plus the Moon Cell Automaton is some kind of quantum mega uber super duper computer that doesn't really care which continuity it's accessing, I may have to take back the whole "F/GO isn't connected" statement since they at least occupy the same "tree" of alternate contiuities.
