Finally finished the series. Really like the ending through.

I know it's cliche as hell. But Hana enter the stage in the mid of performance, catch that thingy mid-air during her high jump before they throw out the umbrella.... that was awesome!! If it was a tournament, then the impact of that move alone would have won it for them.

Hanayamata left me quite conflicted. Although the story is wrapped up in a nice neat package, the quickness of the resolution in each of the main character's conflicts (Naru's hesitations, Yaya's insecurities, Tami's indecisiveness, Machi's past and Hana's priorities) sort of hurt the story's pacing. Nonetheless, seeing them perform perfectly in the festival is nothing short of fulfilling, like seeing a caterpillar flutter its wings as a butterfly for the first time.

Just finished this. Anime covered up to ch 34 which was released just few months before the anime aired. It took 3 years to publish chapters up to that point so even if they decide to make another season they have to wait until 2017.
