Saved, saved, and SAVED. Good work.
And I must say, Gainax still keeping their stride from last week. Not only an extremely thorough Transformers reference, but the highest packed fanservice so far. While not as much animated insanity as last week, plenty of good scenes. Just hope Scanty and Kneesocks don't turn into Team Rocket for the rest of episode. Kneesock+Mustache+blushing= Hhhnnngh! |

I guess my favorite old school reference has to be the shot of Devastator forcing his way into the building, which is a copy shot of the scene from the 1986 film, during the attack on Autobot City. Shame there was no decent Optimus Prime reference.

Makes me hope that whoever licenses it for an English dub gets Frank Welker and Peter Cullen to cameo those roles. They've already done it once for a Megas XLR episode...

Kind of a meh episode in my opinion. The second half was very visually pretty, though. First half just seemed too "busy" and chaotic for me. I couldn't pay attention to it.

hm... I thought it was a bit dodgy that while Stocking's weapon fetched 98Mil Panty's only went for 200K on the ebay page. turns out if you freeze frame during one shot it says those are new pantys and not what she has been wearing.

Amemiya is the king of visual robot creativity. His work on ep12 of Pansto has immortalized (immoralized?) him forever. I really can't believe how good this series is getting. I wasn't expecting a ton from ep12 because of Wakabayashi writing the script, but man Amemiya really knocked this one out of the park. So fantastic, all the way up to the ending tease. Lol. The transformation animations for the title/credits/end were really nice touches too.
Ep13 was pretty solid too. Instead of trying to top the previous episode with pure animation and visuals which would be impossible, instead Yamaguchi and Otsuka decided to make another bubby episode. It's always nice to see Panty and Stocking doing things together, and all the variety in their various job failures and whatnot really made the episode entertaining. Two above average episodes this week! Impressive stuff from Gainax. |

Gainax has, of all the dirty jobs, animating this show on a weekly basis, and even if this episode gave you the worst case of indigestion you've ever had, after last week, you won't believe the things they can do now. Considering they got the original Optimus and Megatron's voices, they reaped the whirlwind, even ending on a Unicron-lookalike descending on the Earth like some vast, predatory bird. So for this post, it's over - finished!
