By the way, I did a bit of searching because Kaito's name sounded weird and I wondered if there was any meaning behind it. Turns out the main characters' names are anagrams/puns:
Daimon Kaito - "mondai kaitou" ("problem solving")
Itou Nonoha - "Hanoi no tou" (Tower of Hanoi, the game)
Gammon - backgammon (should've figured this out earlier...)
Ana Gram - duh
and Cubic is apparently named after the mathematician Évariste Galois. I guess this means he's supposed to be a foreigner?

Wooow. o__O) They're really laying the subtext thick between Kaito and Luke. It's like, "girls, here's your new toy, ship it to your hearts' content." And there's Kaito's little harem of Nonoha, Cubic and Ana (Gammon is in denial). Is this show really on NHK?

Anyway, stupid Kaito, leaving his friends like that. I was almost sad for them. I hope they'll mysteriously appear in England and save Kaito, or whatever. And Fool's Puzzle, huh. No matter what, it's impossible to take Luke seriously with that hairdo.

Btw, who wants to bet that: 1) There's something abnormal with Luke's left eye, and 2) Koyasu Takehito's character is Kaito's long lost uncle or something.

Aww, this was a nice episode, even if it was just to set Kaito up for the puzzle. I enjoyed the flashbacks Rook and Kaito had, and they nice little memories they remembered when together.

Seriously, Rook looks very different when not wearing his usual clothing But it was nice to see Kaito happy, although it did make Nonoha feel bad, which then made me feel bad XD

When Kaito entered that tower near the end after avoiding the trap, that part reminded me a little of Assassins Creed

Nice to see a bit of Kaito's past. Also so we now know Gentleman X. The Bromance was a little too much for me. Felt bad how he left Nonoha and the others in a heartbeat. He should have realized that he was able to solve those kenja puzzles because he had his true friends there with him. Hopefully somehow they all get to ENgland to help Kaito out someway. Like how Ana and Cubic were solving puzzles now.

WTF factor aside, I reallyl iked this Fooll's Puzzle's design, it was pretty creative with all the fancy gothic things. Although I wonder how long Kaito and Luke/Rook/whatever (I just remembered that the chess piece is called "rook" in English - we call it "bastion" in my first language 8D) were in there so Nonoha & Co. arrived not long after Luke left Kaito outside... o_o It's at least 9 hours to fly from Japan to England, and there's also additional transport and stuff.

Also, Luke, just... see a therapist or something, okay? o_o)

I can't wait for the next episode. Cubic looks hardcore.

Nah, I don't think so, unless he has changed his voice in the meantime. Baron's seiyuu is Fujiwara Keiji, Jin's is Koyasu Takehito. Maybe Jin is Pythagoras, though the latter's silhouette looked different from Jin's... plus I guess the head of POG would be a giver, not a solver....

Yikes, Rook's one crazy POG giver. Risking his safety by having himself surrounded by burning flames just to encourage Kaito and the Orpheus to solve the puzzle. And just how did he manage to save Kaito from that fall he took after fainting once using the Orpheus and the learning that his friend had been backstabbing him the entire time? I expected some sort of Jets to pop out from under his clothing as he swoshed down to save Kaito but I guess not It will have to remain a mystery.

That was one simple yet unique puzzle, and Rook saus there is another which is even harder? Good luck Kaito

I really want to know the whereabouts of Jin. When Rook first told Kaito he knew where he was, I was just thinking that Rook lied to motivate Kaito to solve the puzzle...but he said it again at the end of the puzzle before Kaito fainted...he must be involved someway with everything that has happened. I would take a wild guess and say his spirit is in the Orpheus or something but i'm probably wrong

This was the most dangerous puzzle so far.
Rook sure is a devious one.
Reminiscing parts were nice.

Ep. 14.... I... I don't even know anymore.

I mean, I know that it's supposed to be innocent and friendshippy (OR IS IT?), but all the likes and loves and jealousy and broken hearts in this episode were kind of overwhelming. XD Add to that Cubic's little "hero worship" that for all intents and purposes reads like an actual crush, plus Rook's apparent tendency to have baths with Bishop present, and suddenly I'm starting to doubt that this show is really supposed to be for children. XD (Maybe NHK have taken on themselves to raise the new BL fangirl generation...)

Anyway, the characters are endearing, and it was so cute how they all worried about Kaito. I also like how the relationships develop in the harem: Nonoha and Ana are like best girlfriends, Gammon is starting to become a sort of team mom... and for someone filling the "mouthy brat" role, Cubic was pretty badass.

I do hope Nonoha will have a hand in pulling Kaito out of his depression, though. The girl deserves some of his attention!

Also... was that Miyake Kenta as this ep's bad guy?

Ahh, poor Cubic, he's been convinced that he isn't good enough to be Kaito's friend. This episode shows us that he doesn't work well under pressure unlike Kaito, but he managed to pull through in the end.

It seems next episode is Ana's episode. I suppose there waiting to have Gammon's episode last (Or second to last, if Nonoha is included) where he will most likely admit or show that he is a friend of Kaito and the others.

Not much more I can say about this episode. Nonoha and Ana were awesome, funny and cute at the same time when trying to cheer up Kaito, dressing up and all.

Hmm...oh, and one last thing:

Glad Cubic was able to finish and survive. Too bad he's convinced he's not worthy to be Kaito's friend. Lol at Nonoha's plan to cheer Kaito up. Like how Gyamon carried him back into bed.

That Rook character really puts me off.. Instead of following the show I stare at him thinking "it's a sheep... what an ugly sheep... let me shear it...!" And his crush/obsession with Kaito is soooo unhealthy.
But I enjoyed the flashback moments nevertheless.
