There's an easy way to put a JPN veil on your computer though, right? Trick a game into thinking your computer is Japanese? Anything that doesn't involve importing a Japanese computer? A modchip or something, please? Dang.

On a brighter note, the OP is amazing, but I thought Rewrite would be a more downbeat game, like Clannad. The OP seems a bit too upbeat if my guesses are right. I just think the idea of flora is more calming and soothing. And yay, we have a Pico III/ Botan II.

Sigh, I guess the Japanese companies are still pretty traumatized by the crap that happened a while back.
Hmm, what trauma would that be?

Sure, the Japanese fan went go over the edge and ran-over/stabbed people in Akihabara is now common knowledge, but what the heck happened in the west to justify these draconian measures?

RapeLay.

Apparently the vast majority of eroge creators are blaming the Japanese government's increased attempts to censor their work upon Western pressures, and to combat this, they've decided to make everything JAPAN ONRY.

Edit: My mistake.

Won't be long? One's been out for hours. Someone was pretty quick off the mark.

Up to day 3 of the demo now. It's awesome.

Ah, that.

No doubt reported by that Korean Japan-hating CNN whore who swooped like a hungry vulture on a carcass when that moron decided to marry his DS, hmm?

I don't think CNN were the ones who reported it originally, but they DID have a story on it about half a year after the fact.

Still, let me emphasize again - it's an all-ages game. This has NOTHING to do with Rapelay - it is essentially just a story. It is technically in their right to "region lock", but they've crossed a line they really don't need to cross here, unless they're serious about licensing this somehow.

Bah, half 5 in the morning, I can't go on tonight Not having AGTH is such a pain.

Anyway, couple of quick impressions up to where I am (which I think is near the end but I really don't know). There's no real spoilers in here, but just in case there's anyone who really wants to know nothing about the demo I'm gonna spoiler this:

Spoiler:

It has everything to do with RapeLay, because that fiasco is what caused the racist undercurrent in the eroge industry in the first place. You only have to try and access minori's website to prove that.

And regardless of whether Rewrite is an all-ages game, Key is a company that produces eroge.

Sigh, I guess I shouldn't have to be reminded that basic logic doesn't work when you're dealing with racism...

Karma for shrugging when I heard about this crap in the first place, I suppose.

Hey, it's not all bad. Key's website isn't locked down to non-Japanese yet.

Maybe they ARE planning to localize. That'd be nice.

The same unfortunately can't be said about Navel, the folks who have just milked the Shuffle cash cow dry. Dumb move fellas, dumb move.

Yeah, well, they can't help what their parent company's pushing, I guess : P. If it's like this I doubt it's even an engine flag they can turn off.

Localization would be awesome, although if a comment I read on an article about the MangaGamer Higurashi licensing is true, Key wants, erm, quite a lot of money out of such a deal ($1,000,000 or something like that) .

Key's isn't, but nearly everything else under VisualArts is.
