On a brighter note, the OP is amazing, but I thought Rewrite would be a more downbeat game, like Clannad. The OP seems a bit too upbeat if my guesses are right. I just think the idea of flora is more calming and soothing. And yay, we have a Pico III/ Botan II.

I don't think CNN were the ones who reported it originally, but they DID have a story on it about half a year after the fact.

Still, let me emphasize again - it's an all-ages game. This has NOTHING to do with Rapelay - it is essentially just a story. It is technically in their right to "region lock", but they've crossed a line they really don't need to cross here, unless they're serious about licensing this somehow.

It has everything to do with RapeLay, because that fiasco is what caused the racist undercurrent in the eroge industry in the first place. You only have to try and access minori's website to prove that.

Hey, it's not all bad. Key's website isn't locked down to non-Japanese yet.

Maybe they ARE planning to localize. That'd be nice.

Yeah, well, they can't help what their parent company's pushing, I guess : P. If it's like this I doubt it's even an engine flag they can turn off.

Localization would be awesome, although if a comment I read on an article about the MangaGamer Higurashi licensing is true, Key wants, erm, quite a lot of money out of such a deal ($1,000,000 or something like that)

There's no real spoilers in here, but just in case there's anyone who really wants to know nothing about the demo I'm gonna spoiler this: Spoiler: This demo is really long. The estimates seem to be about 3 hours for a fluent reader, so for anyone relying on a dictionary it's going to take even longer. It's also really good. I think the OP sort of gives it away already, but the plot really doesn't feel very 'typical Key', where everything focuses on the heroines. Ryuukishi's influence is definitely there, especially in a few certain scenes. I'm not sure who actually wrote what, but it's all good. The characters are a decent bunch from what I know of them too, I was worried of a repeat of Little Busters where I found myself wanting to hold CTRL every time half the cast appeared on screen, but that's not really the case. Kotori has a lot more personality than your typical Key heroine, Shizuru is just adorable, Chihaya's not bad, Akane is... well, a mystery, and Lucia I'll reserve judgement on until I've seen her more, but so far she's my least favourite. Maeda's legacy seems to have lived on to a degree in the male characters too, as Kotarou the protagonist isn't your typical dull eroge protagonist, and Yoshino... I'm really not sure how to describe him But there've been plenty of laugh out loud moments so far. The music is awesome too. The typical school music and character themes are pretty good, and Shinji Orito's synth-like tracks are fantastic. Those're probably the highlight for me. Also the new engine looks great.
