A would-be omiai turned into a babysitting venture - had all the vibes of KGNE, episode 2. As it turns out Makoto spends most of his time with Kokoro, and she becomes the reason why Makoto gives Kotonoha another shot.
While complaining about Kotonoha to Sekai wasn't the best idea for a number of reasons let's give Makoto some credit; at least he doesn't go as far as Takayuki. Now THAT would've made Makoto a complete cretin and caused people to throw things at the screen. As it stands, Makoto is hanging on by a thread; he's bad, but he has just enough good in him to make things interesting. |

DanielSong is really exact in his comparision of KgNE's episode 2. This is a pretty peaceful episode and Makoto was pretty tame for most of it. The anime in my opinion redeemed itself with this episode.
Spoiler for offtopic/KgNE:

His last line of the episode and its title says it all.
Feelings Passing By. He says she's 'Tiring.' His feelings for her are dying down when hers are starting up. Hence their feelings are passing by and missing the connection. Saji (sp?) is better suited for him. Their personalities are more compatible. In ep1 she smooches Makoto out of the blue. In ep2 she jumps and gropes kotonoha. These are probably things Makoto would do if he were allowed. It also looks like Saji's (sp?) friend (the one with the red ribbon) is about to make her move on Makoto during the festival too. She was making sure Saji wasnt interested in Makoto before making her move on him. She's not convinced, but she can say "I asked first so dont get angry now." That's pretty much what she was doing.

I don't think Itou is about to quit yet. He may be tired, but his hopes of getting in her pants are still high.
... Not that Saionji isn't going to accelerate her sabotage, of course. And am I alone in thinking Setsuna is paying an awful lot of attention to Saionji? |

Oh man, this episode had a good vibe to it.
I mean we finally get to see Kotonoha accept Makoto as a boyfriend and all, but in the end, he starts to get second thoughts and tells Saionji on the phone that being with Katsura-san is... Spoiler for WTF!!:
well Makoto is still learning in this relationship that he has going on right now, but to switch off that fast is somewhat...immature. Hopefully it will get better... 8/10 |
