He was going to choose Karen, but after the kiss he chose Chiaki? This is a big crap, but worse will be if he chose after some duel in a game.

Also,It was announced in the afterword of vol. 11 that the novel will end with 12 volumes. Volume 12 will be published at some point in Spring 2019.

My main exposure to this series is the anime which I know left out a lot of stuff. That said, are there enough Keita/Karen and Keita/Chiaki moments that it would not be a figurative ass-pull if he picks Karen in the final vol.?

No surprise there, majority of the authors prefer to go with the "first girl wins" route and Karen is a nice character so no problem, I'm just glad that it's ending, author's last work was better in my opinion.
