However, precisely because it's design, it has two weakness
1. Every time Irish used it, it'll reveal his position due to the hot gas exhaust, unless he fired it from a closed room.
2. Irish cannot use it from cramped space such as car or small room because of the hot gas exhaust, normal sized room would have no problem though, at the least, there should be 4-5 meter spaces between the exhaust vent and wall.

As for the wings, it was said that the wing itself provides much of the anti-gravity power, but I believe other part will do as well considering the effect of PIC is spread allover the body.

Thanks. I have to make sure he doesn't use it too much since his role is sneaking and hacking, not going to the front lines like Rambo. He has no power armor so combat is always a last resort.

3rd weakness. because the complexity of ammo design, Irish can't get ammo from random places, so each shot has to be very precise and worth it.

It however able to fire standard 20mm ammo, but the power output would be very low, useless against I.S. shield...

That and the fact that the gun's nearly as tall as he is. You can't be stealthy with a gun the size of a 7 year old kid.

What about sloped armor method? From the shape alone, Char's shield WAS meant to deflect most attack right? The new one is arguably worse, even though it's better in terms of spec...

There is no sloped armour on aerial weapons of war due to the three-dimensional plane of travel. Just wait for it to turn one side before you fire the penetrator for the maximum damage.

And I am confused, I am talking about shields, are you talking about conventional armour or piezoelectric coating (aka Phase Shift Armour)?

A gun doesn't work without bullets. Think ballistics.

If you played System Shock or System Shock 2, there are a couple of weapons you can base your concepts on. Up to you to do the research.

MEISTER is the name of the standard issue rifle of the Metropolis Defence Force, not a person. It stands for Metropolis Engineering : IS Tactical Engagement Rifle.

Riselle's handler uses a a variant known as TEAR (Technic Engineered Autocarbine Rig), which is a heavily modfied non-bullpup version which runs on a double-feed system, capable of using belt ammo or magazine ammo. It can be used as a SAW, a rifle-carbine or a precision weapon.

Indeed as the warfare become three dimensional, and that top-thin armor being very dangerous in urban warfare, Sloped armor wasn't so important anymore.

However, because it was arm mounted physical shield, it can cover most place Char wish depending on his (yes, in my fic, Char is he) position and stance. As you can see in the anime, Laura's bullet aren't stopped outright, Char changed the path using sloped armor principle... or at the least I believe it like that.

I'm also confused, the terminology are interchangeable here.

IS Shield/ IS Barrier/ Invisible Barrier/ Energy Shield/ Energy barrier etc. Eratas is also confused with that, and me as well.

To prevent this I separate them as 'Energy Shield/ Energy Barrier' and 'Absolute Defense', not 'Absolute Barrier'.

Could you please tell me the canon terminology?
