Nah, that was clear from day one. Person who isn't true gamer wouldn't be able write SF.
In matter of fact author self-admittedly write various games he buys off his taxes as "research material" and Shangri-la frontier takes break whenever there is some big release (I think last time it was Elden Ring).

Review done. The long vigil ends as they are able to be laid to rest. Touching stuff right there.

But also, she's practicing what she preached. She mentioned outright that cowering in a hideout because they got comfortable with their loot was against the essence of PK'ing, never taking risks. She's wanted to throw down with Rei since she first met up with Sunraku, only for Animalia to basically mutual kill her the moment she let her guard down. There's no shame in losing to the player with the strongest ATK in the game. Now we just need the SLF Mini of Mia restarting the Ashura Kai and becoming the most feared PK after her.

So we get to see some of the things that Pencilgon did after getting PKK'ed, which the Manga had skipped.
And we also get to see the loots of the Boss Battle as well as get some minor insight. And we get this today for some reason.

SEASON 2 Announcement for October!
Also, episode review on my blog. This season has been blissful animation wise between this and Frieren, so my action-addled brain rejoiced. And it was nice having a VRMMO series that was just good. Not everything needs to be a death-game or world-ending stakes. The side-characters have their own stories and events outside of the MC and what he’s doing. And everyone is competent in their own fields of gameplay, bringing something to the table, rather than relying on the infallible MC. And the MC isn’t infallible. He screws up several times, whether it being something simple like game basics such as skill chains because he skipped the tutorial or when he botched his positioning during the boss raid and got killed, resulting in a near-wipe. Both times the others in his party had to pick up his slack, meaning they weren’t just accessories to make him look good rather than being essential players.

Sunraku is loving the game, but probably wishes there was a skip button for all the dialogue and cutscenes.
I quite enjoyed this season. Even though I'm annoyed whenever stuff gets written in with the rule of cool, without any thought as to how it would make sense for the game... Shangri-La has mostly done a good job with that. For example, I imagined there would be a problem with how the AI-powered super immersive NPCs would react to players going out of character. But then it happens repeatedly on screen and goes rather smoothly. You can tell that the author was being really careful with Emul's selective hearing in this regard.
