Fair enough but I'm of the mindset that incorporating the lore into the anime would detriment it to a degree so recommending a separation of the two (plot and lore) seemed more logical imo since it allowed for better focus to the two aspects and less chance of negatively impacting them. I did mention about the budget and being pretentious doesn't sound too horrible if the anime doesn't suffer any writing issues as a result tho. It's mainly a suggestion and nothing more since I see the downsides to it but I think separation of the two aspects of the story would be better than melding them together due to the medium and the fact that few, if any anime series have managed to incorporate lore and plot to a satisfactory degree. In all honesty, another way they could incorporate it is by giving the basic information and letting the animation speak for itself in terms of explaining the sub-categories of the magic system. Ergo, explain what can't be visualized via dialogue and express the rest of the lore through the animations. Tough to do, but is possible I think with a talented and cooperative team. tl;dr: Spit out the important stuff in simple terms and express the rest of the lore through the visual medium its being presented as (animation pictures ftw). :/ Example: Explain magic, then show the character applying the magic in different ways. Bad example but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. EDIT: Just realized that anime series similar to this one do this. SMH. :c EDIT 2: Animation complementing writing and vice versa in order to provide a seamless explanation of the lore while introducing and developing an engaging plot-line sounds like something I think. If something doesn't make any sense, I'll try to clarify it asap.

Don't worry, I understood everything you said, and I do agree that letting the animation explain the broader picture would be the best option, particularly for the world lore, which can be explained just by showing the characters interacting with their enviroment. There are some exceptions, but those are little details that can be excluded with no harm to the story.
However, this doesn't work so easily with the subject of magic. Even if you show what's going on visually, you need to know how the system works or the imagery won't make sense. It can work later on, but you need to explain the basics first, and even those are long and complicated, so at the very least, in the best case scenario, we should have some long winded first episodes. Maybe the first five or six will be riddled with info, with the rest working more seamlessly. |

You know what would be perfect...If the soundtrack of the series is compose by Yoko Kanno(Composer for Cowboy Bebop, The Vision of Escaflowne, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Wolf's Rain) or Yuki Kajiura (Composer for Sword Art Online, Aquarion Evol, Fate/Zero, Puella Magi Madoka)

Tatsuya, my body is ready.
I've only been following the manga thus far, so I should probably start reading the LN before this airs. And after reading through this thread, it looks like I'm the only person who doesn't like Miyuki. Brocon doesn't bother me, but I find her personality annoying. |
