Anyway, in case I am being labeled as a novel purist, I actually don't know enough about the source material to know how the changes affects the plots in long term (since I have no idea what main plot line is). We know from the first two episodes that it is only loosely based on the novel. I don't think the changes are bad until executed poorly, in which case they are very jarring compared with the original. For example, as you mentioned, the plot is repetitive. Then one has to ask why they downgrade the variety in the source to one pattern in the anime.

There are many different type of changes. You can abbreviate to go through things faster (very often necessary), and you can introduce character earlier to give them more exposure. But I don't like changes for change's sake, especially when they are poorly done. What is with the pacing of the fight?

Ah~ No, no, not that. By pattern, I meant the "Anime deviates from the novel/original source and turns out boring" pattern, like Zero no Tsukaima or ZnT or JC Staff. Since I've never read the novel before, I didn't know it was deviating from the novel until your post (had an idea though), which made me kind of go "figures".

Plot thickens... 2.5 cm to be precise... thus Mina now got some pretty tough competition. Anyway, dunno why the complaints, the show does what it can the best way possible, without pointless infodumps, and while being loyal to the personalities presented. I can not say the same though for the ED visuals, Kyuuru (Cule, Cool, Quele, or however she is called) is drawn way too off model

It's third episode and I'm still not impressed.
I gave it a shot, but I think I'll be dropping it.
The fight parts are always nice, but I'm not into that much fan service.
So... this episode was girl vs girl display of power.

Midonin Last Engage Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Florida	Spoiler for H 03 - Summer of 92: OP animation looks much more complete than last week. ED, too. Good work, animators. Only one week spent on a placeholder set. The idea that there would be someone out there with bigger breasts than Mina.... isn't completely unexpected, but she didn't get to hold her title for very long. That Mina is contracted to Quele should be interesting for the future. Contracts do appear to work regardless of the gender involved, which makes me wonder who Iriya is going to contract with herself. Oh, Iriya, you may be very full of yourself, but it's a soft, plump fullness. I think I lost the metaphor somewhere along the way. Her outfit is a little weird, with the thunder horn thing right in the middle of her forehead, but her character is still intriguing. She's been blending into the human world for a little longer and a little better than Lisara has, and ridden it to success. Is it even possible for Ryousuke to have two contracts? Because it looks like she's making the moves on him next week. Going by the credits, our primary cast has been completely introduced, so everything beyond this point should kick the story into high gear. I'm pretty excited for it.
