TSM lost their games at champ selection. How the hell do Darius and Shyvana in Game 1 compliment Karthus or set him up for his AoE? Letting Woong get Ezreal in Game 2 was a catastrophic mistake. Frankly, I don't think TSM respected their opponents enough - their champ choices are just bewildering.
Loving the way Azubu Frost play. Hope to see them vs M5 in the grand final.

Jayce is a decent pick, but Darien showed at Cologne that if you play properly, you can counter Jayce with Shen. And Shy and Manakoon have shown Irelia is a viable counter as well. However, I think it is implied you have to be darn good at both to pull it off.
I think TSM fell into the same mentality SK did - to play what they thought their opponents would want to pick rather than their strengths. However, I also get the feeling maybe the NA teams along with SK haven't appreciated that their own metas aren't so readily transferrable to this tournament, considering how differently the Asian teams are playing from them. Moscow 5 had to work fairly hard against Invictus but they seemed to relish it. Alex Ich admitted after the match that he loved versing Kid in that match, saying he was one ot the few AD carries he'd ever versed that he truly felt he knew how to play. They seem to have a good number of alternate team lineups compared to what they played in European regionals. Alex was playing a lot of Gragas and Ryze but then goes to Evelynn and Zilean. Darien did a lot of Yorick and Shen previously then went to Xin Zhao and Olaf. They're adapting and respecting the increased aggression of the Asian teams. CLG.Eu also seemed to do it to some extent. I wonder whether exposure of the Asian teams via streaming or coverage will be greater from now on. One of the Taipei Assassins's advantages was having little recordings or stats on their games since they had an arrangement for their scrimmage matches to be ended without nexus kills or surrenders to avoid stats being logged. Also little coverage of them and the Chinese teams in terms of recording.

WE totally dominating CLG EU, they've completely read their tactics and just pulling perfect counters to all their moves.
EDIT: Gotta hate Twitch TV... EDIT2: There seem to be some technical issues, I think game 2 will be redone? Last edited by Kafriel; 2012-10-06 at 16:04. |

Yeah aegis on Ez is wtf...but Corki's dishing out peanuts on Vlad and the latter didn't even have a chainmail. I think WE are just being extra careful to keep their death count as low as possible, even on a nimble champion like Ezreal. The negatron->QSS is pretty standard versus all that CC, especially the impale/crescendo combo.

And twice, too...sealed that game. Froggen didn't even bother with requiem.
EDIT: Deman is hilarious when he runs out of patience xD EDIT 2: Twitch TV bugging out, not during the half hour of passive roaming and painful poking, but the second the last teamfight finally kicks in. K gonna hit the bed now. Last edited by Kafriel; 2012-10-06 at 19:12. |
